with all the debate on the recruiting of players and so on,im really interested in the glenunga team and their coach.from a coaching point of view the young man leading this team is getting a good squad together with many believing they are the ones to beat.im interested in how this years results go and how they can and will effect his coaching career.alot of pressure will be placed on chad in only his second year of coaching, with anything but a premiership going to cause the knives and bagging coming out.hopefully he has got someone very good behind him helping in his progress.it can go either way with chad being rembered for coaching a great squad of players and their for getting the results that are expected or doing nothing and their for dampening a bright carreer.would like to hear tired tigers view as he is one of the few coaches that i have come across that not only says it as it is but has some great views and thoughts on the game
deeman how i see it is,outside pressure shouldn't affect chad or glenungas performances.his and the playing groups expectations are what builds pressure imo.if you talk premierships or promotion from day 1 then he will feel the heat however if they have set realistic goals like top 3 then see where the finals take them then i think he and the club will be fine.as you say good support staff around a young playing coach is a must,i think they will do well because building depth and recruiting players from higher divisions are so valuable as the long season goes on.good to see you coaching again and i hope all goes well. cheers tt

Was a toss up between the mozzies and a club down near Victor Harbor the last time I heard in early December. Good pick up for the mozzies if true, which seems likely

Did you hear any mention of the Adel. Plains club that were supposed to have offered him fair $$'s?
He's good mates with another ex Div 1 player, an on baller who I'm told is mates with the ML coach, any chance him going there also?

+ Bobridge and Fuller from Century. Mumford back from Athelstone. Riddler has been rampin it up! Its taken a little while but I think the heat def needs to switch back to the Mozzies! Enjoy it boys, though you are used to it :)

I don't think all these blokes can be pencilled in at Mawson Lakes as every recruit Riddler has got as this stage has come to him. No chance of his good mate (the ex Div 1 Onballer) coming to us but wish he would! I am just looking forward to taking on Glenunga this year as I have herd they will be the team to beat. Cant wait for training to start on Feb 1. When do other clubs start?

Played footy long enough to know that just like every year there will be 9 other clubs that are the team to beat. Especially since its only early January.

Glenunga and ML would be odds on favs for the flag. Glenunga with all the recruits and the same with ML. The mozzies having the great super coach and Brenton reidy would be tough to beat but

The competition should be under no illusion who is the team to beat for 2011. A team that has strengthened every line of the field by picking up Fitzroy's Ruckman in Mark Fuller, a utility in Leon Karvelis, pacey defender Ryan Foley, goal sneak Mark Karvelis, solid defender Heath Nurton and the class of Sean Buss (who will dominate Div 7 around the ball or up forward) has to be the shortest priced favs for a div 7 flag since Colonel Light Gardens a couple years ago and these are only the recruits we know about  . These blokes might not have played in four Div 1 Premierships like Brenton Reidy, but they're also not 35! This coupled with a team that was one win away from Minor Premier last year and coached by the reigning Div 7 Medal Winner in Chad Bourke.

Sure we'll be striving to win the flag like everyone else will, but fear if anyone thinks all they have to do is beat Mawson Lakes, they will be sadly mistaken, as a team that wears Double Blue out the east side of Adelaide might have something to say about that.

Nothing like taking the attention away from ML and all the other recruits u have - Want to Name them all? - Noticed you only mentioned B. Reidy. Plus you do have the maestro in charge which is worth 5 goals or even more

IMO obviously Glenunga are going to be the side everyone is chasing this year, but i think it's foolish to write off or look past sides like TTG, SHOC & Modbury whose A grade teams are in Div 1 & 2.

There are 6 clubs with their A grade playing in this Div. Would be quite poor if at least 4 of those didnt make the finals. Which ones will miss the gig?

Think Ingle Farm although will be competitive and greatly improved from last season, i don't think they will be ready this year to play finals.
Angle Vale another which has struggled over times.
Mitchell Park need to improve 200% from last season.
Think going on last years results, Flinders Uni look the weak link in the div followed prob by Modbury.

Guess it depends how strong the A/B sides are for the teams in this div as to how strong their C/D grade sides are and i guess we will have to wait until round 1 to get an indication of that.

That ex Gepps-x, Kilburn, and Barossa Districts player is also being hunted strongly by a club situated off the coast of South Australia. Apparently the club is offering a more relaxed life style and free travel for his kids to come watch the old boy. Would be a great asset to the club who is after a bit of head over the ball stuff and some intimidation with all those stickers!!!!

The chase is on!!!!

OFF the coast, not on it, so you be comfortably able to assume KI!!! And where did it say the kids were currently being charged??? I simply stated they would be able to have a free holiday whenever they wanted, plane or boat.

Some would think a bit from left field, however he has some aquantences whom he has strong links, with and has warmed to the idea of not having to give up his thursday nights at "catalyst", as there would be little triaing involved.

What's all this got to do with Div 7? I thought it was a Div 7 thread?

End of Jan they resume, i believe a few boys have been recruited, they showed up 1st session but i didnt make it to any of the other sessions after that due to other commitments so i dont know how they look. Couple of the lads look like they will add some much needed height to the side though, especially with the loss of Josh Hawkesworth this year.

Look back at a few pages and it was said that the mozzies had beaten a club from down near Victor to gain his services. That was in late November or early December when they were all chasing him.
Enough of the riddles it is Goolwa or at least was the other main club in contention for a fair while now

If it is Goolwa does Steve O'Connor still think that every club that he coaches every man and his dog will come join him. The guy is getting a reputation like Simon Johnson and Shane Mitchell in racking up as many clubs as he can. Problem is O'Connor is still hanging his hat on taking a 'Cashed Up' Barossa Districts to the flag some years ago.

Steve O'Conner is a crap coach but would make a very good footy director, he does have a knack of aquiring players.
