As for footy and netball, PL is a city with options. The whole family doesn't all go to the footy and netball down here. What is a strength up there, is quite irrelevant to us, and unless you are a Ranger your only 5 mins at best from most grounds anyway. PL doesn't need the togetherness to survive, sure we might lose a few who come from other EP Leagues who go to GF to get what they are used to, but a lot of PL recruits come from Adelaide and couldn't care less about where the netball is played.
Personally, I am so glad I don't have to watch netball, but with a daughter I'll soon have to. Hell, I'll have to go from Ravendale to Centenary at worst, and the Wangary games will be lay days from netball....
As reported on here a severe lack of numbers for Mortlock Selection a few short seasons ago, if the PLFL think they are the better standard then why weren't they trying to show it? Point taken that it was City/Districts at that time too. But when the going is good it has everyone is falling over each other to be selected and then beat the drum that they are the best. Surely it would reflect better if both halves put on a good show rather than pooling resources and being flat track bullys when you combine as one.
For a League of your size to have no takers for a president within 3 or 4 months of the season beginning is absurd. I'm sure the SANFL are scratching their heads as to why this is occurring.
if I can use some cricket I am sure there are some who have made themselves unavailable for inter-league games as well just because the road trip was longer than 20 mins. The too hard basket is not confined to just Football.
If your Football and Netball Associations won't co-operate then don't expect when the time comes to consolidate the EP sporting structure that surrounding areas will negotiate with you. Then they could suffocate you even further if the perceived hidden problems are still around and for what ever reasons they want to leave. Sink or Swim for both then fine by me.
I seem to have touched a nerve with you WCP with this so it will be my final response on the subject. When I posted the original comment I certainly didn't expect that type of response from someone of your stature in this EP online community. The next time I hear some decent news regarding Football (or any other Peninsula sports for that matter) I will keep it to myself. Perhaps I should lobby the moderators of this great site to remove all references to the surrounding leagues and leave you PLFL people to continue your chest beating by yourselves?
