I think they'd be more inclined to be looking forward than looking back.

Exactly, if they were more prone to looking forward than back they have approximately 50 flags to show for it, not just a couple of handful or two.

Oh well, it will be interesting to see how competing (or not) has an affect on any of the clubs future premiership chances. Regardless it will be interesting. Hopefully, the SANFL teams can do well (except Port . I don't think, at the end of next year, any of the teams will be regretting their decision to compete or not compete.

If the allegations on this thread are true - that Chandler said when asked about sponsors logos not being allowed on player uniforms "they will get new ones for free" or something similar then I find this naive and an indication that he is out of his depth.

The importance to our club (and I assume most clubs) of maintaining good relationships with key sponsors cannot be understated. I wonder how Port having just been bailed out can justify entering a comp where other clubs calculate that it will cost them money and risk offending sponsors?

It was Wednesday about 4:45pm of this week. Do they have podcasts of the show?
After they had talked about guernseys Chandler said something along the lines of "the new guernseys will be supplied, at no cost to the clubs". Whatever his response, after the interview Mcdermott said something along the lines of "cleanskin" guernseys? What's in it for the clubs? I'd like to hear it again. However, Chandler inferred this aspect hadn't been finalised yet. One of the unresolved conditions.

Good to know. Sorry, only going by what Chandler said. Where did you get that fact from R&B? If it's a fact, maybe he shouldn't have said otherwise, on Wednesday.

No, but time will tell and I'm confident it's correct.

I will say that at the start of a new national competition, if there are still some things to be worked out, that's not unusual, or a major crime.

Reading it the article says the "schedule will be finalised early next year"

Looks like we won't see any SANFL schedule until end of January which would be only 8-9 weeks before the scheduled commencement.

Like most I have mixed personal feelings regarding the comp, but now its on I hope LifeFM can get to cover some of the games.

One of those concerns is the IMPACT on the SANFL, Australia's best state sporting league and I guess other leagues as well.

Having the schedule released so late for EVERY state league is not a good start. This should be have done in July - September, not October - December.

You've got to be ******* kdding...well thanks SANFL/AFL for probably ruining my 50th and 5 years of planning...the chance of getting the flights and hotel I was wanting will be virtually zero.

I could be wrong ... but hard to see logistically how the SANFL can finalise a schedule until it knows when North Port & West need their byes to play in the champions league.

There was already a reported draft schedule issued that allocated games with the AFL Matches. Replace Central with Port to give them that Magpies / Power doubleheader v Ainslie.

Then send West to Sydney, North to Brisbane or vice versa ..... then let us get on with our league schedules.

I've read some crap on this site but he inference that clubs that make the finals in one specific year (or 2 or 3) are "smarter" than others takes the cake easily.

A bit like you grouping North in with Port to count premierships , as if North are in Port's league.

That must be so frustrating JAS, but unfortunately, you'll just have to hope that the byes Norwood has are not when you schedule. You should still see at least one match - you are here for two weekends, yes?
