We are guilty of playing a bit of soccer before a match but we also kick the footy, throw a vortex and so on. We must not play as serious as some teams if there is thoughts of injurys. I see it more of a get the blood pumping and movement in body.

This is a little dig but a serious question at the same time...i dont understand the whole play soccer before a game thing, i get the warming up thing but why not do it with a cricket ball? there are plenty of warm up games, good hands and a good eye is what cricket is about not sure soccer covers any of that..

Grade cricket mentality......overrated.

Not a bad standard of cricket to mold yourself on I would've thought?

You gave us prob 60 runs because of bad fielding, i would be leaving the soccer ball in the boot next game ;)

Good luck with that, consistent and umpire do not go together. The umpires are getting worse, the last couple we have had have been ordinary.

Unfortunately I thought the umpiring fraternity was looking great last season, Norm, Super, Dancing Dave and Peter Turnball to name a few, I don't know who they have lost this season, good to see Terry Jeffrey out there again though.

Totally agree catchit although i dont get the whole warm up thing at all. I watch my team mates play soccer every week, just waiting for someone to do an ankle

I personly am not a warm up person(maybe a bit of slip catching)... you can bust a finger doing slip catching as well but i would rather see my team mate do a injury from a game that is going to help you on the field

Your warm up would be stretching the vocal chords hey big fella :D

Absolutely not....doesn't make that facet of it right though. Whats wrong with a bit of a stretch, a hit up and a catch ? Of course this is just my opinion.

I'm one who enjoys a stretch and some throw downs.....but there's a whole heap of overrated crap going on at grade level I can assure you.

Clearly didn't see Tulloch's effort in the goal, Kept the hats in the game until the final whistle. What good is a soccer game? It beats just sitting around, why not have a laugh and build some camaraderie within the team? We will continue to have a good time, you guys just keep making runs.

Especially when they come out near finals time, makes you wonder what the mindset is going into a finals match. Is it bout cricket or are they wondering how their team mates are going in a trial game which is often the case at that time of the year

Im not totally against it but personally i think the negatives out way the positives.

Im not much of a stretcher myself prefer to have a few catches a mixture of skied balls and standard catches.

Never been a fan of throw downs until this year where i have done them before each innings and got good results so i guess ill continue to do that until its not working any longer.

Footys are a massive no no at our trainings at the moment especially with the excitment around the footy been in div1 and there pre season starting as of today. Lucky for us there arent to many A Graders who also play senior football.

One day in juniors we had a team mate go up for a speccie and badly injure his shoulder during a muck around before the cricket started. Left him with surgery and missed the whole season, as it was pretty early in the year.

I actually found it a bit strange when I rocked up on Sunday of the 20/20 to see the guys kicking the soccer ball around, I can see the whole philosophy of it all, but reckon I am better saving what little energy I have for a few throw downs and the tussle in the middle. Each to their own.

A last wicket stand of 93 didnt help our cause but we got what we deserved when you drop as many catches as we did.

218 is very gettable on the small EP oval but we will have to bat extremley well to chase down this total.

Once again Rory Andrews bowled brilliantly to take 2 for 15 of around 16 overs and Daniel Jeffries 4 for 21, both these lads will be out training with the Under 21 squad today.

Not a good finish to the day then...

Rory is going to be some bowler when he hits 20-21 and has filled out a bit. He was sharp yesterday when I saw his first spell, but prob half a foot too short in length.

Can't believe DJ hit someone in the head....his pedestrian pace would be lucky to get a ball up that high :D
