turn it up mate, helmets are for sissy's ;) never worn 1 even against bowlers far quicker than jim. still probably says something about my questionable mental state  and why my head has more stitches than a pair of levi's.

as i said lastnight it doesnt have to be quick, bomber wouldnt have a broken nose now if he wore a helmot today, he went to pull a short ball at average pace and top edge into the face.. and my money is on him not wearing one next week..

was that guy serious at appealing for ball handling today in the brahma west game??? surely thats not cricket???
yest i was running to non striker end and the throw came in wide of the stumps i stuck my hand out to stop it as there was no chance of a over throw or running me out, but i missed it  ... was then told by the umpire lucky i didnt cause if i did and they appealled ( which i am sure they wouldnt of) he would have to give me out.. i am sure west would of fired up at that bloke if he got the wicket that way..

i believe if hitting the ball way away from the stumps should be out, but not when its to just give it to the bowler

A nice day out at Salisbury West yesterday, Smithfield were struggling at 6/55 before they put together a couple of handy partnerships to get to 135, McInnes 7/22 off over 20 overs, must've bowled 40 yorkers.
Too many of Smithfield's batsmen tried big shots too early in their innings and paid the ultimate penalty, it took a 16 y.o debutant to knuckle down with Morris to get to a respectable total.
Westies are 1/16.........15 extras  ........woeful.

I've always worn a helmet for two reasons, karma and David Jones would terminate my modelling contract if I got my face smashed up.

went down and watch this game for a few hours. tbh some of the most average batting from 2 sides (except for 1 bloke for the billies who hit 50 odd)... bowling looked to be nothing more than padestrian other than Cree who seemed to bowl with good wheels and very accurate. Neither side seemed to have any batsman willing to spend time at the crease and wait for the bad ball.

if this is the quality of these two sides then both will stuggle to stay up... Cree will do damage with the ball but needs more help from the other end with the new ball but both sides certainly need to find something with the bat.

We def need some work with the bat but i dont think we need to change the bowling at all. We were missing a strike bowler too. Cree bowled great. figures of 3 fa 13 off 14 overs from the other end i think is pretty good support tho.

He was the only other fielder to make something of it. It wasn't really up to just him, anyone could have gone up, Just stirring him up that is all.

The debutant took the gloves, silly move considering that we have 4 good keepers and one of them is outstanding, I was having kittens and the big fella didn't know til he got out there what was happening. 10 byes, 1 wide that went for 4, can't afford them gifts defending 135 against a powehouse team.
