Have we got a coach yet?
not yet, but i reckon by the end of the week (hopefully)... honestly im not in the no...
have heard from a VERY reliable source that 1 Ben Porter has applied for the Plympton senior coaching role. Bit of a step down for him, but a huge pick up for Plympton if he has applied. would think he would have to be top of there shortlist. A quality A grade coach, also with league experience. could be just the thing plympton need to take the step up to div 4
Yeh well I heard Ben has taken the maccasfield coaching job, was very keen on the plympton job but didn't even get a phonecall which blow's me away. Can't wait to see who plympton name as coach!

Ha, why doesn't that surprise. Why don't Maccelsfield give Plympton their dregs? I hear Simon Johnson is available for Plympton. It would be a good fit, cos God knows that club needs an 'Impact Coach'!

It's no wonder you would have to extend your applications for coaches. When coaches of this calibre are simply ignored! and to appoint someone who is quite simply only a B grade coach. (who coached B grade whilst porter was coaching A grade at the same club mind you?? yea, some sort of board and selection panel you're running down there! If this is the case, it's no wonder your stuck in div 5!

He will definatly do that. The only reason I could see people giving him a bad wrap would be because he does not take **** from anyone and will give it back to you. So maybe he has stepped on a few toes, which plympton might need, you never know!

as i stated in a previous post... i assume the committee would think the same... all ive heard are bad reports about him.. also forums on here don't speak highly of him.
few people who ive spoken to from valleys (i also assume the committee would have been in contact with them as well) aren't to keen on him either very good sources. they said he's trouble... not sure we wont that at PFC...
no one in SFL will hire him so im pretty sure thats telling you something...
as i stated in a earlier post, i don't know him personally and im sure he's a good bloke, i can only go on what ive heard.
anyways moving on...
personally im rapt with the appointment, and very much look forward to seeing how the new coach goes and some new ideas to the club..

First i would like to congratulate justin on his appointment as coach next year . Alot has been said in regard's to the Ben Porter situation my concern is that it seems the interview panel has taken as gospel what a few people at his most recent club have said about him(negative comments) and WUB to even bring up comments said on this footy site as having any credence at all is laughable! Anyone can say anything on this site about anyone without signing their actual name to it so things said on here should be taken with a pinch of salt.I think the interview panel should at least have given Ben the opportunity to defend himself against any concerns the club may have had, he's coaching experience alone should have at least got him a phonecall. I would be interested to hear what other forum user's opinions are on this.
