Stewart = 'keeping hack - he won us test match with his missed stumpings and catches when they preferred him over Jack Russell in the mid 90s. Fence posts do a better job than him.
Boucher - he's a good un, 5th best 'keeper I've seen after Healy, Marsh, Taylor and Russell. Never really saw much of Knott to compare Syed Kirmani wasn't bad either.
Back to the topic of the thread three years ago I thought Hartley was going to be the one to replace Haddin. Hartley has great hands and is a solid batsman. Paine and Wade have leaped frogged him though. I think Wade's hands are as good as his and he bats better. Paine not quite as good as Hartley and Wade (comes up to early and has slightly harder hands) but his batting gets him over the line ATM.
Cornsey, agree with a bit of this. IMO
Healy - best Aussie keeper ever, however Gilchrist first picked in best ever team.
England, Stewart won Aussie many a test with his keeping, Knott best ever from there and perhaps consideration behind Gilchrist as 2nd best keeper / bat.
South Africa - Boucher, cannot believe the posts saying he is a good keeper, couldn't catch a cold IMO, makes far too many mistakes. Theh haven't had a good keeper since their return to test matches.
West Indies - Dujon, have to be in consideration although couldn't really comment on him standing up to stumps.
Current - Sangakarra and Dhoni - both top class batters, I think the casual way Dhoni keeps hides how good he actually is, although he had a couple of shockers v Aus recently.
On the Aussie scene
Manou - was best keeper, past it now, unfortunately, but he has 1 more baggy green than me and a couple more state caps.
Rhonchi - struggling after pushing into Aussie 1 day side, jury is out. Love watching him bat though, he smashes them.
Hartley - makes a few too many simple mistakes for me, good State keeper, not in consideration for further honors.
Haddin - still best bat amongs the keepers and probably the best keeper still.
Wade - sorry don't rate his keeping, but probably in 2 to 3 years will be the incumbent and hopefully he can reach the high standard Gilly set, because this bloke can seriously bat.
Payne - alround solid, probably why he is there now, can bat and good keeper.
