Has griffin specifically requested a trade back to WA only or is he open to the option of joining another club?

other clubs will not take the risk of drafting a player who has nominate he wants to return to SA besides port, they
will pass him if he does go thorugh the pre season or national draft.

If a player nominates for the draft he has to be prepared to go to any club who selects him. If he doesn't then he will be charged with tampering with the draft, fined and suspended. The Gold Coast scums will pick up anyone who they think can be of value - I dont reckon they have any decent ruckmen yet. Not sure who they had going around in the VFL.

Jacobs has the power to decline thier offer....why would a club pick up a player that they know wont want to be there??? That in itself is a cancer to a club!

A draft isn't an offer. You cant nominate for the draft and then decline the "offer" from the club/s that draft you until one comes around that you'll accept. If a player wants to play AFL he'll go anywhere, except Port. :)

And in Jacobs case nowhere except the Crows

Yep. WA only. If a suitable trade to WA can not be made, he is happy to continue at the Crows

The Crows are reportedly interested in Richard Tambling. Apparently he still has 2 years to run on his contract, but Richmond are open to the idea of trading him. I can see why, he is a spud!

Surely this would be a backwards step for the Crows?

I reckon depending on the price, Tambling could be worth a punt. I wouldn't throw the kitchen sink at Richmond for him that's for sure - but if Adelaide could snafle him for bargain basement he'd be worth a second chance.

Lets remember Tambling is a high draft pick so the lad can play. Also Craigy has the ability to get the best out of a player, IMO him playing a specific role within the AFC structure he would be more than servicable for AFC.

No 4 in 2004. Should've done a bit more by now, but still only in his mid twenties and a change of environment could do him the world of good.

But being a high draft pick, pick 4 IIRC, and Richmong putting a fair bit of time into his development, would he come cheap?

Could they be seeking him as a possible Mcleod replacement, and running him off the half back line? He obviously has lightning pace!

Stark difference between McLeod and Tambling.

McLeod knew how to find the ball.

for sure

However you cant doubt his ability but his work rate and consistancy is what lacks. IMO Richmond havent got the best out of him and can see AFCs structure helping him.

I thought Petrenko was suppose to be the next McLeod? Neither Tambling or Petrenko should be spoken of in the same sentence as McLeod.

Agree completely. Mcleod was in a class of his own, but you have to replace him with someone.....

By the looks of what Craigy was doing towards the end of the year he wants it to be Porplyzia.

A bit of a catch 22 with the crows looking into trading all these players after being so inactive in the past. As a fan I wished they traded more in the years gone by and now they look hell bent on doing so I am worried about our draft picks and losing a couple good youngsters.

Mitch Clark is unlikely to leave as he is contracted unless something massive is offered in return from Freo. I dont think this trade will affect the crows ability to trade Griffin as WC was always his most likely destination.

What would you give up for Tambling? I think we can only afford to give up a 3rd round draft pick at best. With Jacobs our main target, who could cost as much as our first rounder we would only have 3 second round picks (assuming we got a 2nd rounder for Griffin and used Bock pick). Then we would likely have to do a 2nd round and Will Young/James Sellar combo for Walker.

At first I was apprehensive about the Sellar talks as I have liked what I have seen (being a crows supported and not a glenelg follower) at afl level. Having said that, and touching on what has been pointed out, we have depth in McKernan and to a lesser extent Moran to cover any Maric/Jacobs injuries.

Bachar Houli was linked to Richmond last week. Has this rumour been squashed already?
