Real tough tight game in the reserves with the conditions suiting mt compass more being on there home deck also. Mclaren had big hill taking a few marks in the 2nd half at chf to be the only dominant forward for the day, as mclaren slowly got momentum going over than that even contest all day. Good effort by compass.

Willunga has the finals experience and good depth. Both of which shouldnt be underestimated at this time of year. they have had injuries through the season and have tested there depth and come out the other end.Willunga are my tip. The teams whos year is over are already on the move looking for recruits. Plenty of coaching jobs up agian . Compass , saints, and will the Vale persist with Hill. Is Ben warren on the meat market? or is he a certainty at the creek?

Yankalilla would have to be disappointed with the end to their season. Much work (and $$$$$) done to put a competitive side together only to bomb out in straight sets. Maybe their supporters, who at times revelled in their teams success during the year and displayed a touch of arrogance will learn the meaning of humble and respectful. Looking forward to seeing if they can back up this season in 2011.
Well done to Willunga. Full respect to a team who have been successful for such a long time and continue to play for each other and their gameplan.

Reserves finished 5th and went out in the elimination
U/14s were 4th and won elimination and went out on the weekend
17's were 6th or 7th I think

A fair effort for a smaller town

Too quick for me FOD

Goolwa has been contacted and put on notice as the Plan B for the Grand Final......IF Langhorne Creek is flooded.
A good and proactive move by the GSFL heirachy.

Looks like a few people are writing victor off already or perhaps just jumping on the Willunga wagon. (not that the Victor boys will care i'm sure).

I'm sure the Victor players will be the first to admit their first quarter on Saturday was terrible, completely outclassed by Strath and made to look slow. However if you look at the complete scoreboard they regrouped and actually outscored Strath (41 points to 40) for the last 3 quarters and that included Strath kicking with the wind (or should i say squall) for 2 of those quarters. So i'd hardly suggest they've lost all form and I'm sure they've learnt their lesson to come out of the blocks a little better this week.

Saying that Strath were the better team on the day and now this week you can't under estimate the imposing finals experience of Willunga. A lot of respect held for each other by both teams/clubs, should be another great game.

Not me Chesty.

It really wasnt Victors day at Willunga!

I thought they would come out of the blocks quick and hard following on from the great intensity they played with against Yank, esp with Strath having the week off, but the opposite was the case. They were really un-competitive early and lucky that strath didnt make the most of the opportunities they created. Being second to the contest also set the tone with the umpires and that really hurt throughout the game. Losing Aleks Ilj before the game and Ellis early also didnt help. The only thing that went Victors way was the fact Strath didnt convert well!

But... They were the form side till Saturday winning 13 games in a row and the game is at Victor. I aint jumping off!

Willunga hitting form at the right time - to be expected of course. Can Victor re-group? Certainly were totally outplayed in the first quarter/half on Saturday by Strath. Might get J Brown and Bell back this week but Dale Ellis wasnt sighted after going off in the second.

Dale Ellis did a hamstring according to my reliable source at Compass yesterday.
I keep wondering why teams continue to attack Willunga physically. Yank really had a go at Willunga players everytime they had half a chance yesterday.
To such an extent Willunga just kept on getting frees (which they deserved)
Willunga are not intimidated by that sort of stuff.

Willunga V Strath is looking a real chance.

Ya reckon

A good move to have the gf at goolwa?? you'll be parking in middleton and walking the rest of the way. you struggle to get into the ground during the season with ya car. will not have a hope in hell for the gf. unless you roll in at 6 in the morning.

its a good oval to play on but for parking etc its a bit of a nightmare.

Some grounds are certainly better for parking than others but the fact is that no matter where the GF is held, there will be people that will have to park outside the ground due to the crowd size. The Creek oval will be no exception to that. Surely it's not that big of an inconvenience to have a short walk to the ground on GF day and if you want to get a good park, just have to organise to get there 1st thing.

GF day is about the Footy not about the car parks, who ever makes the GF I'm sure they would want to play on the best deck available, but in saying that what's encounter bays oval like? Plenty of parking n a half decent oval !
Question?if it does get held at goolwa does that mean goolwa runs the day or does LC run it ?

I think Goolwa are set to host the Grand Final in 2011.
It will just be a straight swap if that is the case.

I went to the GF at Mclaren last year - oval was full, road to oval was full - parked out on the main road. Terrible! - Unless we can play the G/F at a ground where I can get a park on the boundary on the wing at 2pm I aint going.

Think that was tongue in cheek re: a previous post. Is there an official word on the GF. I am really hoping it is played at Langhorne Creek beacuse cooking BBQ's and serving hot dogs doesnt sound like much fun. The rain has done Goolwa Oval a world of good and with 3 weeks without traffic it will be good to go worst case scenario
