Central turned the ball over at half back with NO PLAYERS AT ALL behind the ball (in the Tigers forward line) where Glenelg pushed the ball inside their 50 with a 2 on 1, Sibenaler being the 1.

Glenelg looked as though they were in a very strong position to score and after sprinting about 200m at full pace against 2 Glenelg opponents, Sibenaler put on a desperate smother on an Alex Grima kick inside the Bays 50.

As Roy Laird said back at presentations, it is things like that as to why the club is happy to fly Evil down to be back in the league side.

The Dogs are very hard to beat at Elizabeth late in the season.
When's the last time the Dogs were beaten at their home ground after about round 13 (or the last third of the season)?

North beat us by about 2 points a in '07 (?) late in the season.

We've lost quite a few actually.
North in 2006 round 22;
Port in 2003 round 21;
Norwood in 2002 eound 17;
Eagles in 2001 round 13;
Sturt in 2000 round 17

I still vividly remember losing that loss to Sturt in 2000. Some learned Sturt fans kindly informed us that we would never win a flag. They didn't seem to notice how many players were resting up ready for the finals.

Really great game of local football yesterday.

Both side were ultra competitive, theres no way you could say one team was more committed than another.

I thought Havelberg was the difference between the sides his ability to take a few grabs when no one else could even pick the ball up. On Thursday i wouldnt have been to disappointed had he been dropped, once again i was wrong and Lairdys faith in him paid off big time.

Sutherland was great as well, and loved his 'pumpa' of the fists to the bays supporters after the game. He was probably the best big man on the ground and showed why Central rushed him back into the side.

For the Bays, Allan was great, my favourite opposition player to watch, his toughness and ability to win the hard ball is currently the best in the SANFL.

Loved the end tiff with Gowans vs Carr, there will be a sequel no doubt.

Yep whilst the results havn't thrilled me since June 2008 I always enjoy Dogs v Bays clashes - two decent sides ahving a crack with no quarter asked or given. Respect the way the Dogs play their footy.

Ty Allen is an excellent player, but what's up with that beard? Is he hoping to change Glenelg's pretty boy image by going for the homeless look?

Are you kidding? Since 2003 that's one loss in 7 years!
Before then it is once a year by your figures, which is probably a number one would expect for a premiership winning club.
Once in seven years though is freakish, and says a lot about how the Dogs time their run to the finals.

Big big concerns for the Bays with Bode, Mules, Tenace and Rudolph looking to have serious injuries.

Any updates on these injuries?

All reports of leather poisioning have come back negative.

Well deserved win to Central but most people would be able to appreciate that having only 1 on the bench to play with for over a half doesn't help much in those conditions, and then 2 others on the ground in the last quarter who shouldn't have been out there.

As we have been told by Bays fans all year. Injuries are part of the game and cant be used an excuse.

would have definitely been him... heard him say to a mate in centrals club after the game how good he was.....

Any update on the Bays fan who had a heart attack in the car park post-game?

Not sure of the result but from what I saw it didn't look good at all.

We can only hope the best for the gentleman in question.

We left the ground at about 5.20pm - also parked in the school - they were just placing the gentleman into the Ambulance at that stage. From what I could gather, he had stabilised somewhat and was being taken to hospital. But I know nothing else - I did not know the person either, not that I know all Glenelg supporters.

It was good to see the turn out yesterday and as one Doggie supprter said to me at half time, anybody who was there yesterday were true supporters of their club. And great to see a Westies supporter there as well.

Didn't get to meet Centurion, but he did stand behind me for awhile, seemed like a good bloke, until Central started winning.
