Easy money backing Smeltz for the 'golden boot'. Off to Europe for the champ.

$7 I got earlier in the year OL.

Surely they must have thought he was only going to play half a season?

When did Smeltz last score a goal? He lost form and his team crashed out of the finals!

The 'Smeltz to Europe' is also getting pretty boring mate, a long time ago you said he was off to a top club and he is still at Gold Coast.

Basically, in his contract he was promised accommmodation suitable for his young family. When he got there, the accommodation and living conditions he was provided was absolute crap and he decided that he did not want subject his family to that. Nothing more, nothing less.

You'd think he could make it in a better league for a better team.

But he can't.

Because he's rubbish.

WTF, if Smeltz (leading goalscorer last 2 years, best player in 2008, goalscorer in the world cup) is rubbush, does that mean every player in the A league is rubbish or are you just an idiot?

Let it go DA. Smeltzy had is chance in Europe but was stuck in the Conference league and had a goal drought longer than Lewis Jetta had

Does it matter, he dominates in Australia's major league, not real significant on the world stage, but he makes every other player running around in our country look 2nd rate. His record speaks for itself sorry lads.

See, I don;t think he does. Sure he scores a lot of goals, but he's a poacher. A player who gets in the right position some of the time and gets goals because of it.

He doesn't score through class or graft, just from the hard work of others. And sure, it's a good skill to have, being in the right place at the right time, and he plays his role in the team well. But to suggest he's the best player in the league is a bit outrageous.

IMO - Ifill is a better striker.

Having said that, the Reds could do with Smeltz back on the books at the minute.
