Now you have to keep your side together for a push into higher divisions. Hope so, leave us battlers alone!!!!

Trader wrote:Agreed, PAOC forward line isn't good. They rely on their half backs to keep them in games and then get a couple of lucky goals up forward to get over the line. The need pinch hitting roles to get the 6 pointers. That ruckman sluts forward to kick a couple, or they pull Roo out of the Alma front bar for a couple of hours.
IMO, they need to have a long hard chat with #8 (Cleggett I think). Sure, he's a skilled player, but he only thinks of himself. Often jumps over his own guys trying to take a hanger, and when he leads into a hole, if the kick doesn't go to him, he sulks and sits in the way, or joggs back through it blocking up the space for the other forwards. Needs to continue his leads through and out of the 50 then come back into the square by going around the hole, not through it.
The other concern I have over their set up is when the ball gets over their HB line. The full back (Nobby?) is prone to more than the occasional brain fart from what limited time I've seen of him. Given the low scoring style of footy they play, these costly mistakes are amplified.
Having said all that, PAOC are a good side to get out and watch, they don't chip the ball around too much and generally try and run the ball through and over the lines, and they normally provide a good close game against the top 4 or 5 sides.

Must be hard gaining respect from non-believers & people who have absolutley no idea about the game......
You are far and away the best TEAM in the competition. Any FOOL who tries to over-analyse it any more is just that - a FOOL
Granted, we had a few key players out today, but irrespective of that, we threw our absolute best against you, and yet when it mattered, you guys rose to another level......No stars, just a great contribution from your whole team.
Anyone who on face value can suggest there is a better team around at this stage than PAOC, has NO F**KING IDEA at all about the game..And they don't play like college pooftas.............& for the record, Iggies won't even make the grand final, it will be CBCOC who get smashed on the big day...........

Trader wrote:Top End, yeah, perhaps it does sound harsh against the ruck and roo, but my point was that their forward line needs these pinch hitters. Roo won't be there every game, they could easily fall out when he is off with other duties. And yes, the ruckman has been great, so the fact the forward line needs to take him for 15 mins or so in the third qtr to get a winning score on the board hurts them. It would be better if he could stay in the ruck and continue to dominate there.
PAOC and Iggies would be the final I want to see.

Agreed, Genuine discussion is far better.
Sheeds, agreed, #8 is a quality player and would always be hard to man up on. Would like to see him be a skilful player who takes the next step to include the little things that help the team. Just my thoughts, would be interested to hear from people that have seen more than the few games I've seen em play.
As for the wide spread of goal scorers. Is that a sign of a good side with plenty of options or a side that doesn't have anyone who can take the game by the scruff of the neck and win it off their own boot? Glass half full or half empty?
It's sorta like the argument of a player who always gets in the votes when they win, but rarely when they lose. Is he a front runner who only plays well in winning games? Or is he a match winner who gets the side over the line whenever he plays well?
