I'll be curious to see how they spin nearly a gift of $2M of taxpayer funds into yet more moaning about the injustice of it all. Maybe another march because the project didn't get entirely funded by the Federal Government?

As per page 26 of today's 'Tiser, the overall project cost is $3.63 million and will be funded as follows:
$1.75 million from Federal Grant
$1.63 million from the NAFC
$250,000 from the Prospect Council.

A portion of the wind socks total cost will not be considered under the total capital expenditure as the wind sock is under going training which will enable it to train and upskill younger wind socks.

Dont think they'll build a car park for 3000 patrons but you raise a good point.
Norwood needed more off street parking and had to use the area where the RSL hall is for a carpark otherwise the facility planned for Coopers stadium would not be approved. Car park between Southern Stand and Parade not big enough.

Must admit Ive never had a problem at either Prospect or Norwood even when rocking up late.
I usually have to walk further at Unley, Woodville and Richmond now.
Probably a local knowledge issue and years of trying to find parks at suburban grounds when 5000 more people attended though.

I have to agree with Wedgie, Prospect is easy to find a close park, even when there is a fair size crowd, to me Unley is the worst.

I have to agree with Wedgie, Prospect is easy to find a close park, even when there is a fair size crowd, to me Unley is the worst.

Surprisingly I rocked up just before the start this year, took a different street to normal, and got a pretty decent park for Prospect which usually provides my longest walk.

However I kind of consider the walk to the footy as part of the whole days "package" ... They certainly don't take as long at anywhere as they did back in the early 80's when there was around triple the crowd attending at suburban grounds.

Well the only reason you can get a decent park on most occasions at Glenelg is because the School is next to it! Try not having that to park in then Glenelg would have exactly the same issues!

The SAAFL should have applied for the same type of grant that North did and it might have got Thebarton decent lights.
