Has the league ever looked at the possibility of adjusting Division 1?

I mean, Division 1 clubs generally all have C’s and the majority have D’s. Could they look at structuring it as something like D1, D1R, C1, and D Grade 1 ?

It might make the C7 comp a bit more competitive.

Probably not and they probably would never entertain the thought, why fix what isn't broken?

It's an honour and a privilege to be promoted to div 1 and even harder to stay in there, full credit to Golden Grove who chipped away for a long time to get there, build it and they will come.

I'm not sure that many people give a toss about C7 apart from those who play in it, it's D+ Grade footy for those who just wanna still have a kick

Only way C6 becomes more even / competitive, is if the clubs in D6 work hard to field C grade sides and the div isn't reliant on big clubs D+ grades taking up the spots.

Unsure how it looks in 2026 too. Maybe the Club18 division gets revisited again with enough top end D Grade teams?

I would say yes, naturally, especially since the C grade divisions are intended to be aligned with A/B grades, and triple headers.

Be pretty dumb if you said sorry, you can't have a C grade side, we need to fit in Golden Grove's E Grade.

Makes sense, wasn't sure what the rules were. Would D6 clubs look at their C grade as a pseudo Masters team in an effort to get numbers?

Not from my strongest source though, so we'll have to wait and see

I know there's been a few hopping on the merry-go-round this year but surely club expectations aren't that high that they feel the need to get back with the ex (so to speak )

Is this Grima's second or third stint?

Part of me thinks perhaps there is a decline in interest to coach. It's effectively a full time job.

The cost/benefit of it really seems to have dissipated.

Take on a second full time job for a relative pittance and only marginal reflected glory. Worked out well for someone like Jade Sheedy in recent years, but he had some other things going for him in respect of opportunities at the next level.

I think it is also a case of new couches not reaching the levels they claim they can achieve.
how often does a new coach come in after a team has had success and it quickly de rails the clubs culture, might get one initial solid year then its a slippery slope.
