With the end of the year upon us, and the delistings and retirements filtering through from the AFL, thought it might be a good time to open this thread and see whats making news in yours teams.

Re: 2021 Player movements
GLENELG is "very keen" to bring retired Crow Bryce Gibbs back to the Bay to finish his career in the SANFL.
Pushed out of Adelaide with a year to go on his contract, former Tiger Gibbs, 31, is currently taking "time out" to consider his future.
Glenelg president and club great Peter Carey said he had spoken to Gibbs' dad, Ross, a dual premiership teammate, and expressed the club's desire to have Bryce return to his roots and don the black and gold jumper again next year.
"There's been no formal approach to Bryce yet but obviously we'd love to have him play with us again," Carey said after Gibbs retired from the AFL last week after 268 games in 14 years.
"I've spoken to Ross, who I played a bit of footy with, and he said Bryce just wants some space at this stage. But it looks like he's pretty keen to play again.
"Certainly if he stays in SA I think his first option would be to play at Glenelg.
"He started his career here, his old man played a lot of footy here, but we are just going to let Bryce sit back for the next few weeks, take a bit of a breath, and we'll have a chat when he is ready. But we are very keen to get him back here because he would be a great player for us on the field and a great leader off it."
Ross, a classy back pocket who could also go forward and kick a goal, is a Glenelg Hall of Famer who played in the 1985 and 1986 premierships, while Bryce was drafted from the Tigers by Carlton with pick one at the 2006 national draft.

Re: 2021 Player movements
Very good.
There will be a lot of guesswork as usual and even more so as the AFL might/are/probably/possibly thinking of reducing list sizes. As well. Adelaide has already signalled it's intention not to field a second side should the list drop down to 35 or so. If that is the case yoiu would expect Port to do the same.

It's like a live news feed from the scene.

Just thinking about this. Has there been any recent word on this. I suppose the SANFL will lose the $400k/year from the AFC which will affect all teams. I am not sure if PA actually bring anything to the table financially anyways. I don't think we have missed either club.

Re: 2021 Player movements
What are the chances of the Crows Reserves sidling up to one of the SANFL clubs? Westies for example?

Crows via Adam Kelly said this on AA about 3 weeks ago.
IF they had 35, 22 playing plus1/2 emergencies leaves 11 minus injuries.
He said that if this was the case they would like to have their players plat at other clubs as they would always need the bulk of the side to be "top up" players and that would be more expense when the idea of 35 players is to cut expense.
The payment would go. They have not payed this year despite their being a contract. I for one expect the SANFL to chase that payment. I agree that we have not missed them. 8 team comp for me.
