So Cummins is now allowed to play ODI cricket and wow, good to see Coulter-Nile has made a miraculous recovery from his back soreness that kept him out of the previous ODI squad. Stanlake and Siddle dropped, good riddance.

Finch (C)
Carey
Khawaja
S.Marsh*/D Short
Handscomb
Maxwell
Stoinis
Cummins
Lyon
J.Richardson
Behrendorf

This isn't a bad XI, and there is no reason why Short can't force his way in once Marsh is fit.

Short should be the first picked, ahead of Finch.

At the risk of getting absolutely berated, what the hell has Alex Carey done to be a shoe-in, and as an opener? Yes, I love the guy and wish him well but geez he gets a golden ticket averages 27 and strikes at 76 in the ODI format, averages 14 and strikes at 123 in the T20 game.

BTW PP, I went NCN over Richardson as our tail looks a little long otherwise, I'd definitely prefer Jhye's bowling than NCN's, I think we're a bowler heavy and a batter light from the get-go, remove Kane R and bring Head in, just don't have him as an opener.

Well, Finch is first picked because he is the Captain. I don't think Carey is a shoe in as the opener but I am willing to see how he goes overseas. I do think he should be in the team as our keeper though. I like the idea of picking batsmen and bowlers, and not a team of blokes that can do some of both.

I completely agree that Head should at least be in the squad.

Must be great for the selected players to get the chance to play against India - it's been weeks since we played them !

Fantastic fightback from our bowlers after a poor first 8 overs (were going at close to 9 an over)

Ended up restricting India to 7/126

Poor start from the Aussies with the bat, Stonis out for 1 and Finch a golden duck (how the F.ck they can keep picking this knob is beyond me)

At the minute it's all the big show 35 off of 22

Aust 2/56 off of 9

Did our best to lose it by the looks after being 3/100 and only needing 27 from 5 overs. Cummins and Richardson took 14 off the last over to win on the last ball

Actually needed 30 off of about 8 with 8 wickets in hand and then all went pear shaped, lucky to come away with the win in the end

Just watched the highlights, Maxy killed it. Finally a series win over India, you ripper. I wonder if Finch will now start at the top of the order in the ODI series? Got quite a few options for the two openers spots apart from him- Carey, Khawaja, Short and Marsh have all opened in ODI's before.

The first ODI is on Saturday, without Finch you could go something like-
Short
Carey
Khawaja
Marsh
Handscomb
Stoinis
Maxwell
Cummins
Coulter-Nile/Richardson
Zampa/Lyon
Behrendorff
