One thing that really gets to me with commercial organisations is their petty bullshit. Channel 7 in Perth refusing to broadcast WAFL games involving West Perth because they're sponsored by Channel 9. It's like The Advertiser here still refusing to refer to Subiaco Oval as Domain Stadium and continually calling it Patersons Stadium because real estate website Domain is the competition to realestate.com.au now owned by News Corp. Pathetic.

Anyway Channel 9 in Perth has offered to broadcast WAFL finals games involving West Perth if Channel 7 continues to refuse to show their games.

The WA Football Commission remains optimistic that WAFL clubs playing in the Finals will be broadcast on Seven Perth, following an offer from Nine to broadcast WAFL Finals if Seven refuses to feature West Perth Football Club, sponsored by Nine.

Nine Perth’s sponsorship with West Perth Football Club has seen Seven refusing to broadcast matches featuring the Falcons.

Newcorp = Murdoch = Fox

Geez its nice in these days of risk management to have such a ballsy move by both West Perth and Nine Perth.

In SA IMO the move to channel 7 has been a poor strategy by the SANFL, although I acknowledge that the ABC were probably going to stop broadcasting. We should have gone that last year with the ABC and kept the 300K and invest in some decent cameras ready to start live streaming. The NBN is going to deliver a stack of bandwidth in the next 3 years, data costs are going to drop and if you had 2 games live broadcasted by App only, you would think with the advertising revenue it would at least be revenue neutral. Its time the SANFL was ahead of the game.

@Scott Sorry to ask but have you updated the 2015 coverage matches recently? As in which teams have been on telly?

Surprised at the Adelaide Reserves games, thought it would be higher.
Nevertheless the two reserve teams have clocked up 9 of 16 games.
56% for the AFL reserve teams is pretty good considering the TV deal was paid for by the SANFL

We're both SANFL showdowns televised? If so you are double counting which brings you back down to 7/16.

And for 16 games in a 10 team comp you would expect each team to be represented roughly 20% of the time, which for these two combined would be 6.4 games

Maybe you need a stats class john?

Double headers are irrelevant. Collectively the two reserve teams have appeared on the box 9 times in 16 games. By my Mathis 9 into 16 is just over 56%.
Just because they play each other doesn't mean their indivudusl appearances are less. Each time they pkay each other in a televised game it means another sovereign SANFL team doesn't get an appearance.
The stats don't lie. Port reserves have made 6 appearances and Adelaide Reserves 3. 6+3=9

I think maybe you are still wrestling with the facts. You need to give in to your true feelings and turn your back on the darksidea ;)

It isnt a double header, you are counting the two showdowns as separate games.

The reserves teams featured in 7 distinct games on TV, not 9

By that logic the non-AFL teams have made 23 appearances. 23>9.

Sorry, for doubleheader read showdown but fact remains the same.

The reserves have featured on TV 9 times between them not 7. Should I type it in a different language or something
Showdowns are irrelevant.
Port Reserves have appeared on the Telly 6 times. Who they played has nothing to do with it
Adelaide Reserves have appeared on the Telly 3 times. Who they played is also irrelevant.

When PR played AR each team made 1 appearance, the fact it was in the same game has nothing to do with it. The appearance on TV for each team in total is 9

Port and Adelaide have featured in 7 of 16 televised matches this season, and have accounted for 9 of the featured 32 teams so far (not this 9 of 17 figure).

By season's end, they will have accounted for 9 of the 36 featured teams, which is only about one and a half games above the mean (and with all things equal, each side should be on television 3.6 times a season). So if everything was equal, Port and Adelaide should be on television a combined 7.2 times this year, and take out the ANZAC Day game that Port earned that would have gone to any other side that made the GF, together they're 0.8 above the average. Which isn't that crazy.

What is crazy is that Glenelg will finish the season not having been telecast since they were in Round's 1 and 2.

FIVEaa won't be doing it if AFL are still going. They have an obligation to broadcast AFL games.

LifeFM will certainly be calling ALL the finals this year, while ABC 891 and FiveAA will come on board to call the Preliminary Final and Grand Final...

The RPH call between Port and West on Sunday afternoon from Alberton Oval will be their last broadcast of SANFL footy for season 2015...

Unfortunately, 5RPH will NOT be calling any of the finals this season and last night's RPH League Teams Show was also the last for 2015...
