agree with you JJ, Mclaren is the most incompenent umpire in the AFL system, a man with as much experience under his whistle as he has, and still has no feeling for the game or the way its played, has to be given his marching orders, and pretty quickly, as his type are ruining our game.,
I forgot, he is one of Geishans favourite umpires , along with McBurnie. What a pair of slurs on our game.
I wish my remembering was as good as my forgetting

Absolutely NO easy games this year at all as most teams this season have seemed to have Rebounded strongly after a poor match or two so Port need to be 100% on the ball this week or their season could easily turn to S**T in the blink of an eye.
Melbourne are very hard to gauge, having played brilliant footy against powerhouse teams in Collingwood & the Western Bulldogs and then surrendering meekly to Kangaroos and West Coast. :? :?
Anyway hoping for a BIG Power win this week as i'm going up for the game. :D

LMFAO. And you walked out at half time whining about the umps. Give yourself an uppercut Jimbo!

Are some of you blokes serious?

We are middle of the road, just like Melbourne. I felt we might have the class to prevail but Melbourne's young guns stood up. Would love to have got Trengove, he is a gun that kid.

Losing by a point is hardly worth giving up the season over. As for leaving before half-time because the umpiring was shit? LMFAO. Dont bother going to see any level of footy again then jim, from Grasshoppers up if that is your attitude.

So how is the night life in Darwin? Must have been better than the footy.
Cant see port winning another match this season. They are totally pathetic along with the umpires who are simply out of control. Total F*****G joke they are with their interpretations. After making the journey to Darwin to watch the match, i walked out 1/2 way thru the 2nd qtr as i simply couldn't stomach the CRAP that they were serving up. I NEVER intend to go to another AFL match again bcos off this. I know the players are just as frustrated but it's their job and have to try to ignore it. How Scott McClaren continues to keep his job is simply mystifying to me. Oh thats right, stupid me, Jeff Gieshen thinks he's doing a good job.
I did say they'd lose the Carlton game & would be lucky to win 2 of the next 4.
So far 0-2

We are prob not even middle of the road mate....We were outplayed by Adelaide for large portions of the game, Essendon for the majority of the game, West Coast Eagles for a large portion of the game and St Kilda for a large portion of the game. That leaves North Melbourne as the only team weve beaten in general play as well as the scoreboard. IMO that leaves us with one win (in general play) for the year. All credit to us for fighting games out and staging comebacks but the thing that annoys me is when we could be arsed playing decent footy we do, yet most of the time we couldnt be arsed. Somehow we need to bottle the intesity we play with in final quarters and use that during whole matches. Then we might be middle of the road or higher IMO.

you make some good points auto but saying that i was at the carlton game and thought we were the better side for 3/4's but were seriously outplayed in the last 1/4 we have a fairly young list and we'll get better as we get more games in to these lads although i'd like to see more game time into lobbe, nash and co.

to say were not going to win another game this year is just stupid and understand people say things like that in frustration but i think we just need to be abit patient and be like crow supporters and turn on our own like they do week after week
you've gota keep on keep'n on .........

I Goal Umpire for my local country club every week and thorougly enjoy it and rarely do i see umpiring as bad as in the AFL. The country umpires seem to have a better feel for the game and are more prone to let the game flow and just pay the OBVIOUS free kicks.

As for the night life, well i'd just like to say a big thank you to the suckers that play poker in Darwins casino for financing my entire trip. :D :D
