Exactly, you would just remove one cover at a time and if they bay filled then remove another cover.

Pretty simple really, not rocket science. ;)

and i couldn't imagine it taking a long time to take it off, fold it up and put it away. 15mins maybe?

as i said, if i hadn't driven over an hour to get there, i woulda told them where to shove it!

I think because of the size of them and the volume of people in the vicinty it would become a hazard to carry them through the crowd.

Yes but the fact is that they are roped to the seats and the only way they would be able to be taken off without becoming a danger to the public is to pull them onto the ground. This wouldn't have been possible either because the problem only became apparent when the players were already on the field doing their warm-up.
They needed to make the decision during the week, not on game day.

That would be fine as long as they charge the people standard ticket pricing. The issue here is people had to pay premium ticket prices when 6000 standard seats were covered. The problem wasn't that people weren't able to get in.

but then again, i've learnt from my mistake, and i'll be sure to purchase our tix before we get there.

I'm not sure why that wasn't automatic as soon as one class of tickets is sold out. Trying to squeeze a few extra bucks out of people usually goes the other way.

I can understand them having covers with sponsors on it, but to just blank off bays is telling people they're capping their crowds. Worked real well for the Gold Coast A-League team.
It's all the SANFL's fault.

Why wouldn't they just close off the northern stand? Seems the logical thing to do and then there is no need for tarps over concourse seats

I suggest Mark Willaims, the players and the rest of the PA hierachy take Art lessons in the off season
Perhaps that way they could draw a crowd ...

Yep, I sure did. The 'Roos game was UNDER A ROOF on a Saturday night ( a great time slot to draw a crowd ) not on Saturday afternoon ( when other commitments may come first ) and it was a shitty as a day gets. The worst weather for a game at Footy Park for some seasons IIRC.
If you want to go quickly, go alone.

If you want to go far, go together.
