CROWS Nest discussion - Round 9 - Adel v Brisbane Sun 23/5

Postby GWW » Sun May 16, 2010 8:11 pm

The Crows will be hoping to get off to a good start this week after playing their best footy in the last quarter the last 2 weeks. They will be happy to be playing back at AAMI this week, but i doubt they'd be happy with the timeslot (12.40 SA time).

If they can minimise Brown's impact on the game they will be in with a good chance of winning.

Please note rules for posting on the Crows board..

Buckleys and none.

Happy to knock that one down for you sapaul.

Seriously, as with every game this year if they play to their best we would be competitive and possibly have a shot at winning. Despite the supposed injury list, reality is a lot of fringe players are on it and if Johncock, Mackay & Knights come back in this week we will basically be at full strength, minus only Otten.

The reality is they're all playing for survival and not for any greater team good at the moment though. No hard running, no second efforts, tackles that don't stick, handpasses and kicks that don't hit their target. Everyone expects someone else to do it. The AFC is officially playing the worst football I have ever witnessed from them.

There is no excuse for the tripe that was served up Saturday night. Unfortunately they'll serve it up again this weekend and Brisbane will get played back into some much needed form.

Brisbane by 40+ points.

Brisbane are playing some seriously shit football at the moment. Will be a close match I reckon.

Rutten normally does a good job on Brown, so I'm expecting Staker to fire up as a third tall option. [-o<

You want to beat the lions.....?

get the ball in fast to Walker on the lead and long a fast to Tippett in the square. I still believe Brisbane can be a bit suspect down back.
Of course this will all depend on the use of Staker as well.

Exactly. Porps has played well in one half this year, 1st half vs Port. He's also had 2 decent last quarters when games were shot.

As for Stevens, he's only in because we love his flexibility of going forward and pinch hitting in the ruck, I reckon picking SPECIALISTS is the better way to go.

After the game its said a statement is going to be made at selection, but when we actually get to selection none of the soft, effortless squibs get dropped. Perhaps others on the selection committee have hard ons for the "senior players". We're 1-7 ffs, season is shot, win-loss count doesn't matter. I'd rather lose and play young players of the future, than lose and play a bunch of old hasbeens.

Craig asked what the Crows side would look like without those players, well....The Crows are getting smashed now with them, what does it matter if we get smashed without. 1-7

1-7
1-7
1-7
1-7
1-7
1-7

What a surprise that the Leadership group (Leaders in soft squib efforts) suspend 3 players, how convenient.

I agree Craig has to go. The statemant at selection comment is a complete joke and says ' the coach is WAP'. Thats the only statement I read from selection

I havent seen Stevens pinch hit for 3 years. He is clearly finished.

And you all laughed at me when I said the players were out partying to much over summer and doubting their commitment. Its blown up in your face and I was right :ymparty:

Ahem. Didn't Vince, Jaensch & Johncock all get dropped this week for their lack of commitment?? What more do you blokes want, seriously. So the messages you want to send are conditional are they??

I'd rather a team full of blokes with 100% commitment regardless of form than giving those spots to players who are half arsed and doesn't give a shit.

And dropping Porp?? I've heard it all now. Thank **** you blokes aren't running the club. I hope the boys have a big win on Sunday and stick it right up ya.

Sellar after 1 game back?
How is the form of Sloane and Young? Enough to genuinely warrant selection?

How about dropping van Berlo as well? He's been absolute crap since his return fom injury.
