Souths won A grade by 81 points, Bostons won B grade by around 8 goals, Souths won 17's by about 10 goals, Bostons won 15's by a fair bit.

Drove past Ravendale and Tassies were up by 29points at what i think was half time.

Went and saw Far West today at Thevenard, Blues were too good in the end for a very young Thevenard side (who had 6 out) and ran away in the last half winning 20.14 to 10.5.

yes happy fev, but we are well aware you have possibly 3 tall forwards to return (lawrie, kemp and reid) however our pace worried you. i think it was just as pleasing to hear ramblers got done because even though they have some tall players yeelanna must have got them with pace as well. it is a very long year.

If we all agree that Tasmans and Mallee Park will finish top 2. Waybacks and South will finish 3rd and 4th. Marble Range and Bostons 5th and 6th. Then we can take the next 13 saturdays off and go fishing with westcoastpanther and come back after that and play finals.
What was the game like at Wangary Steiger/TRR?

Simple mate ... they kicked more goals than us ;) ;) I didn't play and didn't see the game but Jordy Telfer didn't play and Ryan Modra and Brad Foster went down early in the first quarter so we didn't have a bench for the rest of the match. We still played pretty poorly though by all accounts.

I saw a half of Tasmans v Mallees great crowd a pity
thats it for the year turn the lights off and go home !!
Quite a few roosters unlucky not to be in the best players
Ricky Leonard had a ripper and Magic went true to form.Ben Daniels was real hard at the ball.

I didnt see Davey,Orbons out there and I reckon their were a couple of others in the magoos,
might venture out to the gary next week.
Ramblers soundly defeated by Yeelanna too much pace I think Tate Secker is about 6, 11,,
Maggies did have 6 out but no excuses

Well I might have to reconsider our chances for this year with whats gone on to date. I seriously thought we had the side to get a top 2 finish, OL you are right - we have not got a player who will kick multiple goals week in week out and at this stage that is a major concern. Having said that, Sarge played in the B's and if he can keep sound, he can fill that roll in say a cople of weeks. Nothing wrong with our defence, a fairly good midflield, just our attack. To come back in to the A's are Sarge, Tokas, Tim Brooks (altho they tell me that is only a slight chance).

I thought we were a chance at 3/4 time, only down by 2 goals I think, and with a weakening breeze favouring the clubroom end to which we would kick. But W come out and got the first 3 and that put paid to us although we did fight it out and went down by just over 3 goals in the end. Thankfully W could not kick striaght.

Skills were still not what you would expect again and throw in some poor decsion making and we blew our chances

So 0-2 is not a good start to the year but we we were 1-4 after the first round last year so ???

New recruit Gurtin showed a bit, but not enough yet to get me real excited, but I'm sure I will before too long. Damon Scott was our best IMO with Matt Parker good especially when moved onto the ball, and Tyler Dennis was very reliable down back. Chook was finally moved down back later in the game and that pleased me. I know why they want him up fwd but he is a backman FFS.

But I know what is missing - we need another Dirty

Waybacks - pretty good effort

steiger - pretty spot on

Waybacks didnt kick straight being 1 - 12 at one stage... The new recruits for the Demons have shown enough to think that they will aid in the flexibility of the fwd and back structure. Dene Rodd very good in a "run-with" role on H Parker - he is fearless in his attack on the ball. Hayden really tried to do a hell of a lot - must be an extremely difficult thing as a playing coach. Waybacks found some space in the latter part of the game and really ground out a "workman like" win. The first half was a slog - both sides making mistakes - trying to find some structure and rhythm, as you do early in the season. Both sides with new coaches and personnel, will take some time to find their way - with new game style and plans.

Both clubs with senior players to come back in....

How strange does the Ladder look - congrats to both Tasmans and Souths so far....

The ladder does look very strange.
It should even out in coming weeks rossco.
Are bostons really that bad that they are just about back to the dark days? results would say yes, given the margains to fellow spoon chances south and tasmans. Is there any light at the end of the tunnell ?

Saw the game at the Gary - Rangers were lucky we didnt kick straight.

I think fair to say (as Rossco pointed out) both teams will take a while but that being said look at Tasmans.

From what I can see we will be quite competitive this year. Unfortunatley from Rangers perspective in the last 2 games I think they have kicked under 10 goals - this is a real issue for them.

At this stage I wouldnt be making too many ladder decisions as it is early days - i however reckon this would be a fair call at the end of minor rounds i.e. 15:

1. Mallees - always improve and have a very handy side.
2. Souths - always consistent if they start well and will improve.
3. Tasmans - off to agood start but this has hapenned may times before (great effort considering last year).
4. Waybacks - early wins will be crucial to the ladder and they are always around the mark.
5. Rangers - will miss out this year even with list of players they have got (cant kick goals).
6. Bostons - loss of Blacker is obvious at this point.

All in all however I do see a very good competition and I do think our league if anything is on the improve.
