Early mail is that Stevens & Bock will make a strong case to return to the lineup for this weekend's match. Some much needed strength returning to the lineup, Henderson will go out and Schmidt/Davis will make way for the other. My guess will be Schmidt, just thought Davis really showed some composure against some pretty tough odds against the Bulldogs that will keep him in this week.

Just feel like a few blokes who have been down aren't far away from finding some form. I thought Tippett, Porps & Vince in particular showed signs Friday night.

Reckon we're a good show at opening our account Saturday. Just hope the whinging Crows supporters harden up and front up to give the fellas some support and don't take the soft option and stay home.

I'll be there ! I was thinking of ringing the Port footy club and asking if i can borrow one of those massive tarps they put over the seats - that way i can sit under the thing and wont have to witness us getting beaten, again.... :( ;)

Seriously, i cant see us winning. I think player-for-player we are a better side than them, but Port are better drilled at the moment. The execution of their desired game plan against the Saints was workman-like, and they have very little injury worries. We need to get back to basics, and hunt them instead to have any show. Im prepared to put up with ugly, scrappy footy if it gets us the points.

Drop Burton, the guy is so selfish.

He continually spoils our other forwards, or runs in front of them. The guy has been destructive to the Crows Forward line since he came back in last year. Prime example the Semi final last year of which he was pretty much responsible for the Crows losing.

This will be a close game for me. Both teams usually find a bit extra for showdowns and id expect this to be no different.

The Crows showed glimpses in the first half against the Bulldogs of last years form and will hopefully be able to take that into this weeks game and give the supporters and themselves a 4 quarter performance.

Only expect 1 or 2 changes this week for the Crows with Bock training over the weekend so I would expect him to come in for Henderson who has been ruled out with injury already. Dangerfield is apparently in doubt with a wrist injury so Matty Jaensch could sneak in for his debut. Watched the game sunday night and both Stevens and Walker did not do nearly enough to deserve a recall.

The Advertiser reckons Walker will get a call up but I reckon McKernan could be close on the back of his game for South on the weekend. Can kick goals and would also be very handy backing up Maric in the ruck.

Reckon Walker will be left cooling his heels for another week at least.

Stevens shouldn't come in, he looked pretty ordinary on Sunday. Walker kicked 3 but didn't do enough to get a recall for mine.

In: Jaensch, McKernan
Out: Petrenko, Henderson

Don't want to see Petrenko dropped, I know he's struggling to find the ball but we could use his hardness and tackling against Port.

McKernan has apparently been in reasonble form for South and probably warrants a call up. Walker was ok, kick 3 goals and did alright but was not a stand out.

This will be a close game as these games tend to be. As bad as the crows form has been there first 1 1/2 qtrs agains the bulldogs was good, they moved the ball well and they had forwards kicking goals.

I thought Henderson was a good find, he has some real pace about him, look forward to watching him get more experiance.

Petrenko wont get dropped at all his game against sydney i think it was when he got knocked out was great and showed alot of fight and determination.

Jeansch may come in for the injured Henderson, but i cant see Mckernan coming in on the back of 1 good game.

Bocky, Steven and Walker will all come back
the outs are a bit tougher, Henderson out injured, Walker will be a straight swap for him, Schmidt may make way for Stevens and Petrenko may just miss out to get Bocky back
but also Dangerfield is in Doubt with a sprained wrist from running in to the Goal post

I don't reckon Dangerfield will have a problem getting up, a weeks rest for the wrist and some decent strapping for the game and he will be fine.

History shows that it's good to be the underdog at times. Lord knows the Power have knocked us off in quite a few Showdowns when ladder positions and form suggested that we would win them easily.

Time to get our own back. ;)

Simply, if Port play the way they did last week against the Saints, Port should win fairly easily, but if Port drop off and take it easy, the Crows are every chance to get up and win.

but i think Port will play well and win by 25 points.

If we lose we may as well go and play marbles for the rest of the season

i don't think we play with enough passion to get up. We play like drilled robots.

Could you imagine this team intimidating and getting in Ports face early... i can't.

Port sometimes get up in big games as underdogs as Chocco gets in their ear and makes them believe they will win.

Craigy would be 'business as usual', 'just another game', 'stick to our game plan', and i'm tipping our worst start in club history 0-6.

The big Croat might charge in at the first bounce, then see Brogan and run the other way!
