what a ridiculous comment UA.. you have a crack at those two gun bowlers because they couldnt single handedly win SES a flag. And you have failed time and time again to bowl your side to a single svictory with bowlers like strudwick, knight and yanzic around you. I'm sorry, but thats just a stupid thing to say mate.

I am just making the point that every expert was saying 'Stiffy and Edna', 'Stiffy and Edna'. Stiffy bowled more down the leg side than on the off and Edna is over-rated IMHO. I am intitled to my opinion westcoastpanther and if you don't like it go and pick up your dummy and suck on it or even better don't read the site.
p.s. I will never talk to you again either

thought i could have comment in on this debate, as even though i was injured for the game i am still pretty close too the team. UA hindsight is a wonderful thing. for us to blame the pitch for the way we batted would be awful and not giving credit for there line and length bowling. the pitch had absolutely nothing to do with us losing 3 for 1 after drinks. our batting was not postitive and that is our challenge to get right before we go into another grand final.
107 was never going to be enough (sometimes it can be, but not very often) they have some quality batsman and unfortunately stiffy and enda (who just didn't move it at all on sat) were not at their best. having 107 to bowl to didn't help their cause.
so 5 GFs in a row for 1 win is not what we pride ourselves on but we are continually there year in year out.

I see Tumby Bay has erected some massive new lightpoles with 4 sets of lights on each around their footy oval. Any Tumby followers - are night games on the cards at Tumby this year?

Also heard they have signed a big bloke who works at bakery? any ideas where he is from?

I am not blaming the pitch. I am blaming the poor decision at the toss then negative batting that the only concern seemed to be survival. Would it not be better to be all out in the 35th over and have 140 on the board?
I enjoy the debate and I enjoy reading all of your comments.

totally agree, so leave the bloody pitch comments out of it and give souths bowling some credit. we were not good enough when we batted, it hurts to say that because they are all my mates and they were trying their buts off, but we were not good enough. simple

As I posted I am not blaming the pitch so what do you mean by leaving pitch comments out of it? To let that bowling attack dominate you was the dissapointing thing djd. I would give souths bowling credit if they deserved it. Lack of initiative from your batsmen was the problem.

OL and others - happy to report that both lincoln sides have won through to next Saturday's grand final. Lincoln Red by 45 shots or thereabouts over Cummins White with all 4 rinks winning. Best summed up by using the old junior footy coach's comment - "All played well"
Lincoln White had a smaller, but nevertheless, reasonably convincing win over Tumby.
No love lost between the 2 sides so expecting a cracker. Not a fence sitter normally but bloody hard to pick a winner between the 2.
2nd Div GF to be played between Lincoln Gold and Coffin Bay at Coffins
GO THE REDS

Lets get onto a more positive subject!! - Footy is nearly apon us......

Here's how I see the season panning out....

ALL CLUBS have recruited well
ALL CLUBS will expect and could quite easily make a case to play finals
ALL CLUBS have player losses - some more than others

Mallee Park - will once again be a top 2 finisher - better list than last year
Marble Range - always super competitive - have they covered their losses? - I think so!!
Waybacks - player movement - good recruits - good coach - will be around the mark
Lincoln South - question marks around the retention of last years recruits - young and have recruited - will be around the mark
Bostons - quiet achievers in recruiting this year - Blacker only loss?? - will improve again
Tasmans - Been training their arses off - good recruits - playing in finals would be the only acceptable result after their solid pre-season and recruiting

What a season this expects to be..... it will be evenly contested, with many new recruits and clubs excited about their potiential!

So no preseason cup? got a bit hard to organize did it? Shouldn't tasmans be pushing for it? It would mean money through the door but if its all too much work sell up and let a club in there that has some go in it.

Lucky Roo and Perrie are going to be lining up in the night games and will $ave the day ;)

Bostons will miss the finals TRR. If anyone wants to bet me any amount of money PM me.

Steiger, have been lured to a new club here on the goldy to follow, the Southport Sharks ! The colours are a fantastic black and white with a blue streak, excellent facilities and the ground is immaculate. Have joined membership with the GC 17 club and this doesnt mean im leaving the beloved pies but expanding the love for footy. Mate, can you keep me regularly updated on the weekends playmakers from the gary, gonna miss my local footy in PL and would appreciate the feedback. Heading to the GABBA this weekend to catch the Lions and the Eagles, should be a cracker. Cheers mate, go The TITANS  if you dont follow NRL here you miss out on following sport !
