I think North will be hit harder in the Rookie Draft, than anywhere else...

I think the crows need to look for a tall defender, Heir would be a good fit, during the finals series I liked the look of Millar, he seems to have a lot of poise and plenty of skill, given the amount of support Hurley seems to have attracted I would love to see him an opportunity

Cockshell, Holmes, McIntyre, and Buckley I don't know too much about

Potentially, North could lose Josh Cubillo, Todd Pfeiffer, Andrew McIntyre & Zac Millar in the RD- we could also lose any "signings" we've made in the last few weeks. One of our "recruits" is doing a pre-season with Footscray (ie WB), so we are still at risk of being hit hard, like we were last year (Gilham, Hunt, Roe etc)

From the Legs, Cockshell as mentioned would be a definite candidate, but I think Gavin Hughes would be a near certainty to get picked up ... After that there's perhaps a slim chance that Chad Gibson would get a nod, but I wouldn't think so.

Syd, I think you'll find Jonathon Wynne plays for a club named Norwood in a Victorian League ... Is not on our list at the Parade.

the Saints may well improve their ruck set up with the addition of clarke and gardiner but I have big question marks over them for next year and it will take a huge effort from Lyon to get them in to the 8

Ive played with Tom Hurley and if he is given a chance he will be a champion. The kid oozes class, and Tom Holmes is to young.

Don't feel too bad Syd, that had been highlighted after the Advertiser had incorrectly asserted that and bugger me dead, the very next weekend they've gone and referred to him as a Norwood redlegs player again!!!!!!

Smarter Clubs

Some of the smarter AFL clubs keep players under wraps and dont put the spot light on them with pre-season workouts

Part of the reason why the Clones didn't have a 'train on' list this year... but rookied 100% locals. The Pahhhhr by way of contrast had a long train-on list of local boys, and rookied 100% interstaters (albeit they took Cockshell in the PSD).

As per usual, plenty of players who trained with one team were poached by another: Nick Smith training with the Roos but taken by Sydney, Batsanis training with the Hawks and taken by the Pahhhhr, Gavin Hughes training with the Pahhhhr and taken by the Dogs, etcetera.
