Let the other D1 Clubs have their say first and perhaps you will get an idea. Was never much fun in Finals with some of the decisions we got lets put it that way. Maybe one club got the worst end of it more than once
Are you saying George some of these teams were screwed by certain individual umpires? I couldn't agree with you more mate to be honest, I've seen umpires that have it in for certain clubs & individual coaches in my time & if they ( the umpires ) disagree they are full of sh!t.

Yes I was there that day as well, absolute disgrace, from memory Broadies finished with about 10 players on the ground as the coach took most off for their own safety, not sure if the umpiring caused it or not, although it wasn't the best umpiring one had ever seen. IMHO I think the 3/4 time address by the Greenacres coach had a lot to do with it as well. I remember one Greenacres player taking himself off of the ground very early in the last 1/4 stating he was not going to be a part of that sort of crap

Yes a certain now D3 coach advised his players that if they couldn't make the Grand Final they would soften up the Broadie Boys for Greeks the following week. Well that backfired big time.
Grand Final score Broadview 18.13 (121) Greek Camden 2.8 (20)
2017, 2019 & 2020 PREMIERS RICHMOND, RICHMOND, RICHMOND.
Let that be a lesson to you, Port Adelaide Sturt. & Norwood You don't beat Glenelg in Grand Finals and get away with it.

Without any disrespect to FE and his fellow broadview mate locky - I refer to more recent GF's and finals games in which goodwood have played in as I a toddler in 86. NM might have played or been at those games as well - who knows who is who here. macca21 might want to shed some light on some, as I know he did. And yes NM, I am saying that some sides got screwed by umps in those finals and GF's. Our matches had finished by then our club and players saw henely and goodwood in a final last year and know who got the best end of the stick. FFS - you are obviously under 30 as well or just over it NM and it just annoys you to see these games.

macca21 to the rescue please - you know what hapened as you played. Very badly, but still
George, umpires can certainly be ordinary at times. But you lay in your own bed, I have been part of a team (myself included) that has a lot to say (argue) with the umpires in the past and this may have hurt us in some minor round games, but you reap what you sow. I firmly believe that teams that can't keep their mouths shut deserve a rough ride, it's part of the discipline of the game. But as for any final I have played in, and any against goodwood, I don't remember honestly getting the rough stick in any. When it came to Goodwood always beaten by a better TEAM. eg 2007 GF umpires had nothing to do with the result. And contrary to popular belief, some of the umps going around arent too bad. Any light on just which games you are referring to George?

Very politically correct macca - am sure a few of your fellow team mates (from those games) are not as policitcally correct as you mate

Gaza got what gaza deserved. We whinged and argued too much. No further comment. And your right I can't kick, just lucky there should be a few blokes around me that can.

Thank you Jimmy - there was certainly some discrepancies about the umpiring that day. Maybe had something to do with the behaviour of the Greenacres players at the second semi final - trained that morning and got on the sauce - turned up and gave it to the Broadies lads - KARMA maybe?
Some of the free kicks I saw were just blatant - Bomber got sent off and never touched the bloke - I was within 2 metres. Anyway.
The speech at 3/4 time certainly intimated that we should make Broadview earn their spot in the G/F, but it wasn't intended to turn out how it did - we just lost the plot - please - don't intimate Bomber asked us to do it.
A really bad day - and good luck to Broadies for their win the following week. A very unpleasant memory in an otherwise fantastic period of the Greenacres Football Club.
I was there to watch a mate playing in the B's GF and stayed on, and anyone who knows me, would know that I would stick around to watch Broadies and Greenies beating the absolute suitcase out of each other, and have not have a semblance of pity on either.
FE wont like me saying it, but..........there was one umpire in particular who should never have got another game. He umpired Greenies out of the game from the first bounce and it was blatantly cheating the entire game. Then, in the final quarter, when it was all over bar the knuckling, started giving Greenies frees pulled out of his rear to make up for it
Broadies may have won on the day anyway, but to this day, I still say that umpire was a blatant cheat
Can't argue with you about the umpiring Jimmy as I wasn't there. I was winning an undefeated premiership at the time and then went and watched the second half of the A7 Grand final between our C Grade and Ovingham.
Mind you Greenacres were making DICKHEADS of themselves all year. Even in the first game against us at thier ground. They played the knuckle most of the year and it came undone when it counted.
It was an ex Broadview player playing for Greenacres at the time who walked off and never played for Greenacres again. Did not want to be part of the CRAP that Bomber wanted.
