They dont like playing on turf according to Andy Page

Now now ua, that is not what he said. Someone told him that and that's what he said on the sportshow. He said he didn't know what their record was there. Beebs and Reags then mentioned the fact that they had won a final so obviously have had some form there in the past.

Talking about the sportshow, who do you all rekn gives the best report in their respective sport segment.

WCP used to do the best footy previews on here. Very knowledgeable, put Bluey's to shame. I hope he does them again now he's not coaching.

Any idea when there will start to be some results and stats on the PLCA Mycricket site?

I don't think there'll be anything put up this season ... it's up to the secretary I spose. The plan is to get it up and running properly for next year.

The 'mycricket' websites are a great initiative by Cricket Australia Dirk and should be utilized by all the associations
currently Tumby Bay, Kimba & Eastern Eyre associations use the websites to post match results and players scores etc
If you would like to see a good example of the website being used to its full capacity log onto the Tumby Bay website

www.tbdca.sa.cricket.com.au

from this website there are links to all 4 clubs in the association and their history, records etc

If anyone is interested in setting up their own club website I would only be too happy to assist

That site is great and the ramblers site is a credit to you. who has kept all those records over the years? Amazing!!! what a great way to promote your site and honour the great players. Will Steve Milton make it to top run scorer before he retires? How many runs would pacer murphy have made over the years?

Pacer Murphy has scored in excess of 10,000 runs for his club Rovers, Mark Cameron has scored close to 15,000 runs for Lipson and Andrew Woolford a touch over 9,000 for Colts. The unfortunate thing about records is that not every club keeps them or they get lost or destroyed over the years. For example Bob Davey who played for Port Neill (his grandson plays for Toddies) is regarded as one of the finest cricketers to have played on EP scoring over 50 centuries and taking hundreds of wickets in his career but nothing has been documented as the scorebooks for his club have dissapeared. This is why the 'mycricket' websites are such a great thing for cricket clubs and the associations alike. Once the match results and the players statistics are entered on the website they are preserved for ever.

Note: There are no fees involved to have your own club club website.

As mentioned the history of clubs and it's events/past players shouldnt be lost. I know that the PLFL trialled a site last year - does anyone know how that is coming along or is there an alternative.....

Sadly Scott the SANFL or AFL have nothing as good as Cricket Australia. There is however several generic websites out there that clubs can be part of that allows you to post some club history, latest results, club news etc. Tumby Bay & United Yeelanna are a couple of examples. Not sure of its origins, but shouldn't be too hard to follows the links to find.

www.greatflinders.com/uyfc
www.greatflinders.com/tbfc

Sporting Pulse is probably one of the better ones out there

www.sportingpulse.com

If you have lived in several different states its great to log onto these sites and check out how your old footy team is doing in say Cairns, Darwin or Perth

We know very little about the former greats of port lincoln cricket. I know a few of the greats were Barry Speed, Andy Hutchins, Jim Schrapel and Glen Tee.
I know very little about our great past and would like to know more. I googled Charlton Cricket Club and it had never heard of us. how embarresing  .
Who were some of the other great players from port lincoln cricket?
