Strong rumour of going to synthetic greens with upkeep costs taking its toll.

Ragabone I cant make it on that date but can assist in the future as this is the breeding ground of champoins. we must do everything to help them even those who don't support the magpies.

daicos or steiger do you guys not rate Darryl Hage in your top 10. from what I have seen he is a champ or is it because he is from Kirton that you dont rate him?
No Ian Fulton either?

I heard player poaching has been a recent issue in PL bowls.

Darryl is the leading player at Kirton Point no doubt but don't forget they are a long way behind us up there. Top 15 for Darryl maybe. Ian Fulton NO, not a big game player. Dave Fulton top 3 for sure when playing. I had 'mexican' right up there but he is a little inconsistant and often under the weather which doesn't help on hot days but can't doubt his ability. Gary is top class but he can be put off his game as many of us on the white side will tell you. Chris and Mario are consistant and yabbie has taken big steps in the last 5 years to be an elite player and that last bowl on saturday was phenominal under that pressure. Schumaker is a bit of a left field one but he is under estimated. I have put a lot of red players in the top 10 as I am being honest but overall we may have more depth when it matters. I hope.

what do you do to put steiger off?

a) Open cans of beer as he is about to bowl ?
b) Get naked women to run laps of centenary oval when he is on the furthest rink ?
c) Tell him that happy hour is nearly finished ?
d) play yothu yindi over the loud speakers
e) all of the above

Synthetics - We currently have 2 of the best greens side by side in SA. David Fulton is a master greenkeeper. Costs a lot but we manage. Can't see us ripping them up and putting synthetic in the forseeable future.
Darryl Hage - a very good player from Kirton and would be their no. 1 ranked player. He is however from Kirton and the question related to Lincoln club bowlers only.
Beer Price - cheaper than pubs. I honestly can't tell what they cost - I just buy them and drink them.
Wrong Bias - $1 in the charity box ( and a fair degree of comment to make the person look a bit stupid)
Poaching - Not in local bowls. We got 2 players from Kirton this season. One returned to us and the other wanted to come to us. Definitely did not chase them and in all honesty (and putting the association hat on) it would have been better for the comp in terms of evenness if they had stayed at Kirton. Both good bowlers (Stry and Harris) But once they apply we are not going to knock them back.
Put off Steiger - One you forgot - good old Paddy O'Brien (may he rest in peace) let go the best fart I have heard, and unfortunately smelt, in my life a few short years ago. Actually cleared the rinks alongside. I was laughing that much my next few bowls were shite. Talking about putting people off I skippered against Ron Koch when he was at Cummins a few years ago. We both had about the same aiming point on the end bank and when I pointed out to him that he should lift his eyes a few feet and see what was directly in line with that aiming point he lost it for at least the next 2 ends. We won the game. (a rather large (very large) female was at the other end sitting in a provocative position) Funny as

sounds like plenty of laughs and cheap cold beer. Im looking forward to retirement.

Any more news on the turf at ravendale? I heard the council will only allow it on the current cricket oval because they dont want to ruin the number 1 oval. What is the point in that? I thought the whole idea was to get cricket on that oval where at least it has toilets

I agree what is the idea of having a turf pitch on the second oval?
