Mawson Lakes are as follows:-
Feb 19th - Brahma Lodge @ Brahma Lodge
March 20th - Hackham @ Hackham
March 28th - West Croydon @ West Croydon
Other then Hackham, You have some tough competition there. I believe you will push both Westies and Lodgers... Mawsom have quiet a list this year. If they are not div 6 come 2011 it will be a major under achievement

As the date approaches to when divisions are announced who will be playing in Div 7 this year?
I think it's safe to assume the following teams will be playing:
Mawson lakes
Glenunga
SHOC
Athelstone
Flinders uni
Adelaide uni
Central united
Angle Vale
And one would think both North pines and Ovingham will be playing in a c Grade comp,
So where are the Final 2 teams going to come from?
I think Modbury are a certainty to fill at least 1 of the 2 spots...SMOSH, TTG or Port District to fill the last spot is my guess.
Having played Div 7 in '07, then playing Div C2 in '08 I can tell you Modbury will be more the competitive in Div 7

Yes, that would be a goal Bigshow. But any good side would hold stride with ego and accept that they cant count there chickens before they hatch. I am starting the year there but Central United are in for a tough year. Yes its one thing the be positive but its also one thing to be realistic...

The coach was unsuccessful in his bid for our B grade job for 2010 so he took the Central United job. It's catch 22, if you change clubs you are always going to try and take some players with you. We've had it happen twice now in 3 years, we just have to build a bridge and move on. Personally, I couldn't even bring myself to apply for a role at another club.
Whats the names of the coaches of United this year? I heard our B grade coach of last few years D. Prosser was applying there. Havent really asked about the result of that
the B grade coach at CU is nick named Twiggy.... dont know his real name

On a personal note, I know you very well!!!! And I know that you probably have never even been to CU's home ground let alone watched them train so we will can that dribble straight away..

understand what you mean about moving to another club but sometimes people want to show the doubters that thay are capable of doing a job.alot of the times coaches are appointed for not the right reason, politics, friendships or the that all mighty reason of bringing new players with him ect.we all know what i personally think of that last reason.if a person is really hoping to coach at a better level or improve himself he has to make the move.hopefully they make it for the right one
we stand as one

has been mooted but where do you start?
do you give uni, henley, athelstone, shoc the chance to join the new div 8 with the other c grade sides or leave as is?
the competition would be very uneven with these sides probably hammering other c grade sides like golden grove, if the above is the case.
if they stay in div 7 and are joined by modbury, ttg and perhaps smosh there'd only be golden grove, paoc, uni as a starting off point. i'm sure i've left someone out here though.
Our Ds got absolutely belted by the Div 1 & 2 D Grade sides (Port Distict, Flinders Park, Modbury), our situation would be better off playing our Ds against the C Grade sides of Div 5-6.
I believe that a move is being made to have the C1-C5 grade to be based upon promotion and relegation again to even up the grade as they getting some very lopsided scores last year. Grades to be based more on ability than where your a Grades are based.

Yeah 6 or 7...I think the side has played in every grand final since 1999
Anybody would like that record of playing in 10 grand finals in a row!!
Their Div 7 Reserves side may have played in a record amount of GFs in a row, and Legrand may have won a record amount of medals, but ask anyone how Adelaide Uni have been travelling over the last few years, and most would say unsuccessfully. I feel sorry for their new coach Marcus Trimboli when he sees a guy on the track, who has good skills and is fit, but can't utilize him in their top grades, cos he's playing lower standard footy with his mates!?!?! It'll be hard for Marcus to make Adelaide Uni successful again, when he has everyone at that club going their own way. And what happened to the old adage 'You play where, you're picked'? Good Luck Marcus, seems there a few people at the Blacks that don't want them returning to the highly regarded Amateur Club they once were......just a great Div 7 Reserves Club (oh sorry, that's right they're mates)
Too true. The club won't get any where unless they pull together to be one club. Players, coaches doing their own thing only divides the club. In 2007 Wes played in the A grade when the club was under the pump and short of players. This lasted only a few weeks then he sulked i believe and went back to D7R and Malcolm gave him all the votes. Look at every home game they play he gets the 3 votes. Played in several games there against Wes and on one occasion he spent over 1/2 the game on the bench injured and we flogged them but he still got the 3 votes what a disgrace and joke. Malcolm should be banned from umpring Uni games. The SAAFL several years ago banned Malcolm from doing Uni games but some how he is back doing them now. He is the biggest cheat of an umpire in the SAAFL

Geez, don't hold back FE, tell us exactly what you think!
How many times has this been put forward and yet nought done about it.
If it's the same guy who umpired cricket, he was a bit "dodgy" with that too! Is he also the 5aa (I know it all)serial caller?????
Rule Book rings a bell!!

Correct it is Twiggy, Craig Harley. He was joint coach of the "b" in 2005? when they lost lost the grand final to Adelaide Uni. He and his family have been involved at the club since it was formed.

Re: SAAFL Div 7 & 7R (2010)
Andy Stewart is the A Grade Coach at Central United, and he had a talented group of kids in the Smithfield U/18s last year, so if he can get a few of them over he should have a bit to work with at Div 7 level.
