Big Fav in trouble again

Postby sydney-dog » Tue Oct 31, 2006 5:38 pm

Reported today that Fav was involved in a night club incident and will be removed from the tour, police are still investigating

Credit to himself, he kept himself out of trouble all season so the latest incident is disppointing considering he has pushed his cause for a leadership role at the blues

some blokes just keep finding trouble

Fev has come out and said that staff and other Irish bogans in the casino in the town they were in were abusing the Aboriginal players from the group, giving them a hard time. The constant abuse that they have received must have worn them down, but you don't see any of them having a go at anyone.

I'm actually a Fevola fan, and find him entertaining both on and off the field, however I find it really hard to defend him (as much as I'd like to) in this latest cufuffle (sp?) ... Like it or not, when you're oversea's to represent your country, you do so both on and off the field.

so when Lindsay Gilbee and his mates all go out and head hunt Graham Geraghty in the next match for pay back for something that happened in the last match, that is acceptable???

i thought retaliation was worse

They are supposed to be representing their country and they are on 11 hour drinking binges, why should we take any of this hybrid game seriously if the players themselves dont? scrap the game and just have a footy trip to ireland and televise a punch up from the pub.

So he claims, but others don't suggest this was the case ... Even Fev admitted he should have shown further self restraint.

I like the bloke, and everyone makes mistakes (especially on the slops) so hopefully this all blows over quickly, but I don't think his behaviour can be justified on this one.

don't think it will just blow over CP. i think the AFL will have something to say on it. wouldn't surprise me if they suspend him for a couple of pre season games, just to make their point :D

There's nothing "political" about this. It is a legal matter, and instead of Fevola being annoyed by the AFL for sending him home, he should be grateful to them for getting him out od the country as quickly as they did.

This isn't just about an AFL player fighting someone in a backstreets Melbourne night spot, it's about an Australian tourist with an Australian passport whose chose to contrevene the terms of his passport. The AFL have handled this in a very professional manner, and Fevola will escape a potentially nasty situation.
