Is it over for Rann?

Labor, Liberal, Greens, Democrats? Here's the place to discuss.

Agreed Gozu and SS, a balanced and sound summation.
The basic issue is whether or not we, the voters, like the way he is running the state.

I haven't been back here long enough to have a strong opinion on that...
The team from the desalination plant answered my questions about brine dispersal satisfactorily, assuming what they said was true.
I'm unsure which is the best choice for the RAH, and haven't worked out whether the inconvenience of trams in North Terrace has enough balancing benefit..

I was amused during Rann's press conference yesterday when Mike Smithson (I think) asked him if he had been trufthfull at all times regarding the matter (or something to that effect) to which he replied with an answer to a completely different question. Not one of the journo's pointed out that he didnt answer the question, he has their bluff and they are scared of him.

Actually, if you listened to the whole thing, you'd have heard a few voices pipe up and try and get him back on to their message. Mr Rann, like all modern day pollies, is very clever at answering the question they want to and talking long enough that another question will pop up if one they don't want to answer pops up.
There's not too much team-work in a media scrum and all journos have their own agendas (notwithstanding the fact they may actually be interested in hearing a question like that being answered) dependin upon what their bosses want.
Questions can easily get brushed aside by pollies for that matter.
You'll also notice that Mike finished the presser and was definite about that. He'd put out his message, added some phrases that will have others thinking about whether Chantelois is genuine, or even right in the head, and was not going to answer any more questions.
The journos are not as bluffed as you might think.

This is off topic and although I admit I haven't given the whole trams thing the greatest attention but can anyone explain the point of having a tram line running down Port Rd almost alongside the train line? If the trains already cover the route and the train line is currently being upgraded what is the point of the trams?

Hit the nail on the head. Finally, someone has the guts to write what is going on here.

I couldnt give 2 hoots whether he did it or not. I just enjoy the fact that there are 400 media minders working 24/7 and Media Mike is squirming

Exactly which is why I think this whole thing is politically motivated.

Interesting to note that she now wants to be released from her 14 day contract with Channel 7, the plot thickens.

Can't see them doing that. Surely...
Will she give the money back, or some of it???

$200,000 for 14 days exclusivity = 14,285.71 per day.

So, if she breaks exclusivity tomorrow (as an example), they've only got $57,142.84 worth....

Time to apply Occam's Razor - what is the simplest hypothesis?
1. Her version is entirely true.
2. She is exaggerating for revenge or money.

Anything more complex, involving politics, bikies, or aliens, while it may be possible, is probably less likely...
