Rex Hunt - 3AW

Talk on the national game

Rex Hunt - 3AW

Postby Columbo » Thu Sep 24, 2009 10:25 pm

Have heard a bit of talk about this weekend possibly being Rex's last call on 3AW.

He seems to be the kind of person that everyone loves or hates, personally would much rather put the radio on and listen to him and his offsiders than most of the TV commentators, everyone retires eventually but think he is still good value and would be sad to hear him leave the airwaves.

What does everyone else think?
Trust the process.

I tend to stick with the ABC but I can see why some would prefer Rex. Will be a loss to broadcasting if it is his last.

I'd much rather listen to broadcasters who commentate on the game, rather than try and work out who the hell he's on about.

Don't like him, never really bother listening to him except when I have to. Even then, it's a struggle.

Do all that I can to avoid him, which is a shame as I miss out on Cometti and Buckley on a Saturday afternoon. He is an arrogant man with a lot of issues.

Will be disappointed if he's sacked.

i enjoy his commentary, sometimes it does get a little carried away but he brings the others in the box into the game as well.

During last weeks Cats V Pies game he made several fairly self promoting remarks, almost as though he was trying to justify his job and in turn trying to tell the 3AW boss' what he thought of them. Was rather strange at times.

Barely commentates on the game these days preferring to indulge in pathetic dribble and trying to come up with stupid names for almost every player, he seems to force himself to get excited by a game, much the same as Rowey and Wildy and a fair few others do and this detracts from the sensible comments that the good commentators make. As McAlmanac said, he is an arrogant man with alot of issues and he dusts over these to try come across as a goody two shoes.

Can't say I'd be sad to see the back of him... and then I can settle down and listen to the commentary without his dribble.

Publicity stunt... I've heard it all before from Rex...

3AW staff are pretty certain it's his last game.
No contract has been signed as yet.
It's expected that Brian Taylor will be heading to 3AW.

I heard Rex on Cornsey's show on Thursday/Friday (can't recall). The man talks a lot without actually saying anything. Did anyone hear his comment about 3AW wanting to talk to him, and "now I want to talk to them". Went around in circles and meant diddly.

Then he said "far from me to pass comment" about Fev......(and then went on to ramble for 5 minutes about Fev).....

I'm positive that he just talks to fill a void.

And sorry, I just don't get the "I love Adelaide" bull he goes on with. Two faced git.
