Makepeace, 27 next year, this year in and out of the Roo's side, played some good games but had some average games as well, I don't think he will be picked up

not a hope in Hell

clubs have declared their hand, 5 years ago the trade period was hectic and this was the key week in building your list, NOW it's the draft, clubs rather pick young talent, with no baggage or ego's rather then recycle a player

I've just read reports that Port has delisted Ware, Bishop and Ezard, probably no surprises there, although i think it wouldn't have been a bad decision to give Ezard another year.

As for Bishop, presumably the coaching staff believe that Carlile is ready to take up the 3rd tall position in the backline.

Definately surprised at Ezard. Improved a lot this year. I guess he was a player that I personally couldnt see becoming a regular. There is talk we will re-draft him as a rookie.

Ware...good riddance to bad rubbish.

Bishop...fantastic clubman but was terrible the last two years. Was one of our most reliable players from 01-04 though.

Even with Peter Everitt already having moved to Sydney and John Barker retiring, the Hawks still told another half a dozen players on Monday their services weren't required - leaving the club with plenty of room to top up its list at the NAB AFL draft on November 25.

This year's draft is considered the strongest since 2001 when the Hawks claimed Luke Hodge with the first selection.

The six players axed were Matthew Ball, Luke Brennan, Nick Ries, Ben Kane, Harry Miller and Josh Thurgood, following meetings with coach Alastair Clarkson and football operations general manager Mark Evans.

SD Says

Will either the Crows or Power invite Harry Miller to train, maybe for a rookie spot?

Miller is nowhere near AFL quality. Id be dissapointed if the Power chased him.
