Don't know if I agree with suspending them seeing as though 5th spot is p for grabs, thought a fine would be more appropriate or is there more to this???

I agree and good on the club for doing such. Garlett will be replaced by Yarran, Cloke by Hammer/Sauce or Warnock & Betts has been crap the past month anyhow. Come on down Browne....

Eddie has been struggling with a knee complaint and may have been rested anyway.
This sort of thing has been happening to much this year with not many of the stuff ups having been made public. Good time to be strong on these players, coming in to a finals series. Should send a message to the rest of the group that discipline is the only way to be competitive, year in, year out.
Interesting that on some forums the suggestions have been made that they were drinking the night before even though nothing has been said by the club and of course most are blaming the whipping boy Cloke for the incident.

VERY poor form by the players.. why do they do this heading into the final week of the season? Carlton have made their first finals series for a long, long time and they have a chance to host it in Melbourne.. works well for the Crows though.

Those 3 blokes hardly make a difference. Cloke would've been dropped for Hammer / Warnock / Jacobs this week. Garlett is a straight swap for Yarran IMO and Betts has been carrying a injury and his place was on the chopping block anyhow.....

If it was Judd, Fev & Gibbsy then yeah that'd work for the Crows

Exactly right. As I said in the Crows forum, the change this weekend that probably hurts us the most is Hadley's injury as he was running into some good form and was doing his job of clearing a path for Judd, Murph etc. Our ruck stocks are very good these days and I think Cloke was only being played to ty and bump up any trade value. That's really worked now hasn't it

FFFFAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRKKKKK! OK, that feels better now. Good season boys. Hope that loss stings in the belly and we have a massive pre season followed by a massive season.
Also, it's been so long that I forgot how much it hurts to lose a final, especially when you're in a commanding position it the last. Absolutely gutted.

As I've been saying all season about our defence, it cost us again last night. I was very surprised we didn't go in with Setanta to be honest. It just would've given us flexibility in defence in the key positions. But not having Jamo and Waite there didn't help much. I hope Paul Bower is in the gym right now bulking up if he's going to play a key position. To put it bluntly he's a good third tall defender.

Should've won, didn't, so we move on to next year (cos let's face it it's all we've got now).

The bit that hurts is that we could've beaten the Bullies next week at the G and moved into a Prelim. Oh well, nothing we can do about that now.

I was disappointed in the way we lost, not that we lost last night.

Overall, 13 wins, 10 losses, 7th position - not a bad year and a good stepping stone for next season.

I agree Setanta would have been a good option

Carlton supporters I would be interested to hear some of your thoughts about this season. Shoud you guys have at least made it to the second week of finals? or did you guys finish above or around the mark you believe your at? keen to hear some thoughts on this.

In my opinion the blues definitly have the potential to be great. Great midfield and with Kruzer and Hampson some real quality big men there to feed that fantastic middle.
Forward line is as stated a few times can be a bit to Fev orientated. Need to find that second tall. Wiggins, Cloke, Fisher have threatened to be that person but none has really sustained it. Fev does a good job but still, when you know where the ball is going you can shut it down.
I guess as a few have stated already, the backline is an issue. Definitly need those key defenders. Hopefully for you guys Waite comes back well and Jameson turnes into the player they need.

So I guess in my opinion they have finished around where there at.
Thats just my thoughts on Carlton at this stage, would be keen to hear what you guys think.
Read my reply. It is directed at you because you have double standards

Judd offered two-week ban for misconduct

The incident was assessed as intentional conduct (three points), low impact (one point) and high contact (two points). This is a total of six activation points, resulting in a classification of a Level Three offence, drawing 325 demerit points and a three-match sanction. He has no existing good or bad record. An early plea reduces the sanction by 25 per cent to 243.75 points and a two-match sanction.

Does this mean Judd is ineligible for the brownlow? or as it was in finals he still is?
