both sides have done extremely during trading periods and from the rookie list, take a look at the eagles rookie list selections.
both clubs have not had too many top 10 picks compared to other clubs, this falls back to my premiership window myth thread, my opinion people weight top 10 picks too highly, your not always going to get high picks so you need to recruit well and a strong development program, both these teams are the most successful teams over the past couple of years and their success can not be contributed to high draft selections, the strength of their overal lists is a credit to their development and good coaching
both these sides have developed some amazing players through the rookie system, like of Kirk, Kennelly, Grundy, Vogels for the swans and Cox, Fletcher, Lynch and Jones for the eagles, not to mention both sides key players have come from deep in the draft like O'Keefe (56), Goodes (43), MickO (40), Schneider (60), Embley (57), Braun and Selwood (53)
