Jay Cheep, best game I've seen from him today, kicked a good goal from close to the boundary on the run.
Stuart Hill, boy I know every coach would love what he did in the last quarter - Hill and about 6 others from all angles going for the ball, he burst straight through everyone and then goaled on the run.

Well said Spelly Cheep has picked up the pace of SANFL after his stint in the two's.
No dobber had me worried but Miles was everywhere today .

eagles won all 3 grades today :D

What was the score in the 18s?

Eagles 10.19.79 kicked 3.11 in the last qtr had we kicked straight it would have been a better result.

I thought Corbett was outstanding with his fierce attack on the ball and body....

Miles took up the challenge and played well.......

yes Cheep is finding the pace now....he is very elusive and creative around the goals......found his place on the wing....

McGregor was his usual rebounding best......

McKenzie must be polling well in the Mageary again after his performances this season....

a good all round effort from the boys today.....

the crows have got a beauty in McKernan.....jeez he is impressive!

i thought that while south was brave & fought it out to the end the eagles were always just doing enough to win, i thought miles, corbett & grocke who presented all day were best for wwt's while for south i thought warren was their best from mckernan, boyd, rolfe & torney who battled hard all day, it was an entertaining enough game & south do have the nucleus of a good side but they are 2-3 years away & it was a good call again by the boys today
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway

No doubt South have a good team in the making, but the Eagles poor goal kicking flattered South today. The Eagles dominated the match. Bring on the bays.

Went and had a look at this game as well today...

Agree with most that Eagles did enough to get the points, Jeep best for mine followed by Macca and Miles.

Panthers had some good moments of play and young McKernan certainly shows a lot of promise but Eagles should have won by much more had they kicked straight in front of goal.

I was sitting right behind Hanby when he had that shot on goal that actually "lobbed" onto the actual top of the goal post. First time I have seen that happen in a game of footy for a long time.

I actually did it playing an underage game for Centrals at Elizabeth Oval about 10 years ago and realised how hard it is to do !!

I must say, I was impressed with the set up the Panthers habe down at Noarlunga, was my first time down there in 12 months. Also good family atmosphere with the marching band, kids activities cheerleaders and a hovercraft on the oval pre-game !!

Agreed Big Phil - South did it well and I reckon there was a pretty good crowd in attendance.

All the details from WWTFC viewpoint already on our website.

Could only catch the last half on radio - thanks to RPH and people on here for the reports.

The Eagles will be happy to take the points. Sounded like South were always in touch, but never quite there to really put the pressure on.

Good to hear Miles stepped up in Dabrowski's absence and performed well. While, it sounded like we were beaten in the tap outs, at least our ruckman were able to do their bit around the ground. What is wrong with Dabrowski?

Sounds like the other huge positive was the performance of Cheep. Hopefully a confidence booster for him to take into next week and beyond.

I would the Panthers, and the SANFL, would be reasonably happy with that crowd figure...

Traditionally, Noarlunga doesn't draw a big crowd and it is known that Eagles fans aren't great travellers so just over 2K is a good turn out I'd say.

2272 was biggest crowd for South v Eagles at Noarlunga since 2001 (2273 attended), only other higher figure was 2,515 for the first matchup at this ground in 1995.

So if 2 more people had showed up it would have been better than the 2001 crowd !! That's a great effort then PhilH for that sort of attendance number to show up at Noarlunga. I guess the trick is to start getting it more often from a South perspective, but it would help if their on-field performances improve as well. Nevertheless, well done to the Panthers today on the set up, well done Eagles for the win.

Will be interesting to see of they get that sort of figure again next week against the Doggies ???

I would have been happier with the 2352 that CK told me. ;) In actual fact Phil, 2276 was at the same match last year.

Certainaly not the best game to watch but good to get the win none the less after the other results on the weekend.
Thought Jay Cheep was great today, having a few weeks in the 2's certainaly seemed to work for him, gave him an opprtunity to get his confidence up and get a few touches which he then carried into the game today. Kenny McG, McKenzie were solid as usual, Grocke took some strong marks and Tom Corbett, Todd Miles and Staurt Hill did some good things today. Seemed on a few occasions South were there own worst enemy, seemed to flood back which was working but then turned the ball over on the rebound because they didnt get enough guys forward quick enough to take advantage.
Good performance by the Eagles ressies today to get up by about 9 goals after being down to 18 players halfway through the 2nd qtr, the bench looking more like a casualty ward after loosing Fitzgerald to what looked like a hammy, Jarrad Redden to Neck/shoulder and possibly a bit of concussion and Brad Geddes with a leg or knee injury, towards the end of the 2nd qtr they were down to 17 after Simon Goss had to leave the field for blood rule, great game by Matty Goldsworthy should see him off with the Under 18's next week.
Trust the process.

The next month will be a real test for Fuller to see if the Eagles are fair dinkum still , under his leadership . Lets just hope the board arent going to sign him up to another contract mid year as they have done previously . We dont want history lessons , show the supporters that we are going in the right direction this season . It starts this week , and the pressure is on for Ron ! No excuses re. injuries or oink flu , lets see what the old dog has left ; then the rewards should be given if they have been earned , fairs fair .

More then 2 people turned up, I believe that the u18s would place that figure a little higher as no one was maning the gates when I arrived and those who where there early for the 18s would not be counted in the final total.
