Hopefully South can put in a 4 Q effort. Very winnable game I would have thought especially if there is rain around.

will be interesting to see what happens at selection this week, with a couple of senior guys (Handby and Smith namely) among the best in the ressies last week.

Handby staying at South is he??? My "mail" is that he wants out and has spoken to at least 3 clubs - one a hybrid, one is closest to his present club and the other is North of the Torrens.

No as reserves and League are at the usual time just that the u18s start at 8.30 before the reserves.

Presuming if indeed Handby wants out, which I doubt, and wants it done before the 30.6.09 cut off, it would be pretty interesting to see which club gains his services. Perhaps I am a bit naive but surely at this stage of the season all/most clubs would be right on the salary cap limit.....

Well I know one club is Glenelg but my mail is mixed on whether he approached the Bays or whether they enquired?

I know an approach was made to North by someone on behalf of Handby but seriously he would not add anything to our current line-up so why would we bother and I am almost certain (still waiting for a definite confirmation) he got a polite "No thanks"!

Surely if Handby can't make South Adelaide's league side, then other clubs would be giving the old "thanks, but no thanks" answer...

I think he will either stick it out at the Panthers and try and force his way bakc in their side or end up playing in a local league for some good coin...

Try WWT, Bays, Nth

Doubt if other clubs would be interested

Handby is needed for his experiance at South, the younger blokes need someone to teach them the game.

The Crows have sought permission from the AFL for Robert Shirley and Jared Petrenko to play for the Eagles this weekend, despite playing for the Crows on Sunday and it being the split round in the AFL.

They have been given permission by the AFL and will be available to be picked to play for Woodville West Torrens at tonights selection meeting.

That will make Eagles fans happy no doubt.

This comes directly from an email I received from Eagles Football Club

As this is an AFL split round, the Crows and the Power must get authorisation from the AFL for players they wish to play SANFL football who played in the AFL competition the week prior.

I can advise that the Crows have received permission from the AFL and SANFL for Robert Shirley and Jared Petrenko to play SANFL football for the Eagles this weekend. Therefore, they are available at selection tonight.

Thanks

Colin, I have to say that our communications are so much better than they have ever been. Good work to all involved at the Club. If nothing else at least we are communicating to our Members much better.

I don't know what injury Treeby has now, but he didn't look right the week before the state game (his first game back after his last injury) and I was surprised he was made available for the state game. He hasn't played to his usual standard since then either. I hope they give him a decent rest and have him right for if we make finals. Don't want a repeat of last year.

No real surprise at some of the changes made. The Eagles have a lot to play for this game. A win and we're still in touch with the all important top 3, a loss and we'll be back scraping to stay in the 5.
