I agree. The rule was brought in to protect players, but I've never seen a player put his hand up and say to an umpire. "I'd better go off, I'm bleeding and I'm a danger to other players." They try to hide it and stay on as long as they can, so they clearly don't think it's dangerous or don't care if it is. At AFL level the Players' Association should either instruct the players to voluntarily go off when they're bleeding so as not to endanger their fellow AFL players, or the rule should be scrapped.

reprimand for me

Interesting assumption. Footy players get blood noses all the time and not just from being snotted. It is theoretically possible although unusual for a Sturt player to try a hard ball get. Did anyone actually see how it happened? And in any case, wiping the blood was a low act. I doubt he would be proud of it.

this is one of the funniest posts I have read...

wow, your team just got ******* spanked by 85 points...i think the gowans fella was just upset he got some blood on his pink tutu because centrals played like a bunch of little girl ballerinas!
 ;)

in all seriousness though, the blood was spilled when gowans smacked nick smith in the mouth and it was silly by nick to wipe the blood on gowans blouse.

Looks as though you are just a little bit TOO knowedgable of the reasons a person would lie there SJT.
As a Sturt supporter I, like Jimmy, just cannot understand why people make stuff up and lie. O:)
