Dont care what anyones says, Rex Hunt adds alot to listening to footy, yeah he gets carried away, he has his behind the sticks, his wilburs, his fat lady, hell thats what footies all about, least when he commentates a boring game he keeps you interested

Spot on, he seems to be aware that he is the eyes of the listener and goes about giving an accurate call of the action, without personal biases entering into it. Plus he was a very good voice for radio, very crisp and easy to listen to.

I have no idea why people like Rex Hunt. Sure, if you want to laugh, he's the man, he's ridiculous. Personally though, if I want to laugh I'll watch one of my comedy dvds. Someone I work with who follows the Crows, and doesn't know an awful lot about other players, etc, was listening to Rex Hunt calling a game. She said not only didn't she have a clue who the players were (all the silly nicknames), but she didn't have a clue what was actually happening .. and surely that should be the priority of the radio broadcaster.
