The Chemistry did not work at Richmond.

I would say he would be shattered man.

Try Coaching

He is still a mighty man.

Thats it dogs, I agree with you there. Considering what he went thtough over the last month from the media shows hes made of some pretty sturder stuff.
I guess Caroline Wilson and he Smug hobbit Hutchenson got there men. Now what will they right about, hmmm probably time to start on Mark Havery again, oh heck they'll probably spend and entire week on how Ben Cousins gave a camera the bird. I copped the bird on the way to work today, gave one back as well, shite! better switch the news on as I like to drink as well

He was just an OK player and barely an OK coach - he got his first role in dubious circumstances some of which is captured in the documentary Year of The Dogs - I still feel sorry for Alan Joyce at what we saw happen to him - he left Footscray in the lurch and he did little in helping turn around Richmond's abysmal record since 1981.

The best fact is that the Swans fans were livid and the uproar led to Paul Roos getting the job and allowing the club to win their first flag in over 70 years - one wonders what would have happened if Wallace went there.

All I hope is that he doesn't end up with a media role which means he is seen in Perth. Just like Mexican Sol, it's time at last to say "adios" to Tel.

Ok player? 3 Premierships and 4 B&F's....pretty good record in a golden era of footy ( 1980's )

But booney it would've been so easy winning b&f's in that Hawthorn side

Anybody else see Wallace on the Footy Show last night? Sam Newman isn't an interviewers arsehole. He kept cutting him off halfway through an answer. Pre-planned questions are fine, but you can't keep asking the same questions if you don't get the answer you want. An absolute joke.

I actually think Sam is quite a good interviewer. Much better than a lot of other journos i have seen recently.

I gotta disagree with you there Droppie. In the few interviews Sam does I think he is a great interviewer, not afraid to ask the tough questions until he gets the truth. I know he's a tossbag normally but when he interviews he is serious and very good and gets the answers.

I also thought it was one of the better Footy Shows for the year last night too.

You have to cut Wallace off or he'll talk forever and tell you nothing. This whole thing has mystified me, the retirement of Wallace is being treated as if it were some great success like Leigh Matthews giving it away, when in fact as a coach he was an abysmal failure. 5 years at Richmond, achieved absolutely nothing, and gets a hero's send off :?

Still, that's the magic of Wallace, never received the attention and rough treatment other coaches get because he's Wallace, a man closely connected to the media.

I'd like to slightly correct you Hawk. He's never received rough treatment because he talks like a pollie. He speaks, and lots of words come out, but they mean nothing. I don't think the media like interviewing him because you get nothing from him. At least with Malthouse and Sheedy you get SOMETHING from the interviews.

You get plenty from Malthouse in interviews. One thing is that his distain for journo's comes through loud and clear. Its funny Caroline Wilson always wonders why he has to be like that, hahahah its funny he just hates everyone, good for him!
