Wallace resigned.
Got his 500 game milestone - a win, thanks to Mitch Morton - and said "sayonara".
You're my only friend, and you don't even like me.

Good on him, watching the press conference now.

He's holding his head high and doing it with dignity.

Congratulations on a great playing and coaching career over a long time.

:ymapplause:

Now hopefully, Hutchy, Caro and Mike Sheehan will now leave him be.

he didn't do any good at Footscray???

Don't judge 30 years or so on just the last few ... an unbaised view from someone who hasn't supported any of the teams he played or coached by the way.

Regardless of what any of us have ever thought toward Wallace's coaching ability, surely noone could dislike the bloke .. He comes across as a great fella and it's been hard to watch the strain he's been under.

I hope the coach of my club here in SA falls on his own sword, but no coach ever set's out to oversee an unsuccessful period, so it shouldn't cause personal animosity against an individual (although it does for many).

Best of luck to Plough and his family, hopefully Fox can bring back a "White Line Fever" type show which I thought he was great on (obviously noone will ever be able to replace the late great Clinton though).

He went OK at Footscray but 'great' as word I wouldn't associate with the way they coughed up that Prelim Final. I have always thought his coaching capabilites have been greatly overstated. And that's my unbiased view from someone who hasn't supported any of the teams he played or coached.

Alright, alright, I might have been too enthusiastic to pay tribute to a man in his time of need but am not too precious to admit a mistake ...

How about this then:

Congratulations on being an average player who happened to win a few hawthorn premierships, who then got the arse from them and could only play for Richmond and Footscray because they were fairly crap at the time. Also, well done on extending an really ordinary coaching career for so long before getting the arse.

I tip my hat to you.

Legend.

I hope I have redeemed myself.
