Give them Toby for their final draft pick. Whatever number it is, Port would still get the better end of the deal.

Could end up in a 3 way deal, involving Port, Eagles and Freo. NOW that would be "trade bait"

Interesting

PETER Everitt's persistent phone calls to Sydney last year led Paul Roos to alert his Hawthorn counterpart, Alastair Clarkson, that the ruckman was shopping himself around behind his coach's back, despite still being contracted.

In extraordinary revelations by Roos, it has emerged that Everitt was the architect of his own departure from the Hawks, and that he initiated talks with the reigning premiers, rather than the other way around.

We were hearing this talk linking Everitt to Sydney at least 3 months ago so at least it can be put down to 'where there's smoke, there's fire'.
Interesting situation as you could only put it down Everitt wanting to play in a premiership before he retires (which you might say is what all players wan't but given Adam Selwood's attitude during last year's trade period, I'm not sure that it is) but I can't see him being a big fan of their robotic style of football.

Everitt to Swans

Postby Ruck Legend » Sun Sep 17, 2006 9:25 am

As a big-time Swans fan, I would not mind seeing Peter Everitt coming to Sydney however I would not to see a very good player be given up for him. Everitt only has two years left at best. Sydney still may go back-to-back this year with Jolly and Doyle. I do not want to see the club give up a player like an O'Keefe or Bolton just to get Everitt. For sure I am not a big fan of Doyle and yer if Jolly went down the ruck department looks thin, but hey there are not too many clubs apart from West Coast (Cox and Seaby) that can boast two no.1 ruckman playing at the same club.

I can not see Swans giving up very good players to get Spider Everitt. Yer perhaps before he went to Hawthorn they would have but Sydney are a very smart team under Paul Roos these days.

Good luck to whatever happens.
My choice for him to be traded -
In: Everitt
Out: 2nd round draft pick and They can have Chambers if they like or Ben Matthews or Luke Vogels. Hey do they want David Spriggs.

Ruck Legend

Spida is out of contract, so Sydney hold all the aces in this deal, the swans may not have to give anything up for Spida as he could opt for the pre-season draft, the risk is Sydney will have one of the last selections, but Spida could price himself out of the reach of other clubs, enabling Sydney to grab he, that's if Sydney was prepared to pay the $$$

Looking at the swans stoppage style of play, Spida would be a massive pick up, the swans style of footy is heavily reliant on winning the stoppages, all respect to Jolly on Doyle but Spida is a class ruckman, would fit the mix very very well

Pagan made some interesting points yesterday in an Age interview about "club politics"
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Jason Cloke will also be traded or de-listed, Polak from Freo is out of contract and looking for a new club

You would think the Tigers may target the Cloke brothers or Polak, also the Bulldogs given their lack of talls, the usual suspects, Carlton, Essendon and Kanga's

Dream on boys. With Nathan Ablett's continuing development and the father son scam of Hawkins, why would we bother with a waste of space like nailpolish Thurstans? As for having a recent history of forwards who can't play..YOU try replacing a 1000 goal kicker..that's right..you johnny come latelys haven't had any of those yet LOL.

Thurstans? It won't happen. BTW, Booney would LOL at me on a daily basis if it did

*Rubs hands together*

Id be prepared to house Kent Kingsley in a Norwood or West jumper for the year, just to trade Thurstans to the Catters...Oh the joy..
If you want to go quickly, go alone.
