Amen - finally someone else has spoken the irrevocable truth. Look at the demise of this once great club, since Glen Rosser moved onto the SANFL - NON Norwood people were installed - and have miserably failed. The club has lost it's heart and soul (does anyone remember "every heart beats true for the Red and the Blue"?)
I talk to dozens of Norwood supporters who have simply walked away in disgust at the events of the past 10 years. Look at who has been in charge - look at who has been responsible for junior development. STOP living with the ideal that Norwood will come good, because of "our history" - it's over - time to get back to some REAL basics.
The strength of the club came from TRUE Norwood people (and ex players) running the club. Don't give me crap about how times have moved - TRUE MEN OF NORWOOD have the ability to move with the times.
I don't know who is "managing the club" these days, but I know the club is suffering from the decisions that some people who were NOT CUT FROM THE RED AND BLUE CLOTH made.
Winning football is good football - throughout all the grades - at last we won something in the juniors (U/16's) - let's stop being a development machine for the AFL - to give us the dollars to run our SANFL club. If we have junior premierships - surely the AFL clubs will still recruit our players and the cash will flow?
Seriously - I loved this club with all my heart - now, I turn my head in shame - and don't give me any crap about I'm not a real Redlegs supporter - I have been since the day I pulled on their jumper and I wore it with immense pride - but stop looking through rose coloured glasses (or red and blue ones) - you know, that is what cost our greatest son's job as coach - because he believed that anyone who pulled on the red and blue was so good - time to wake up, folks - it is embarrassing and disgraceful to all that pulled the great jumper on......amen.
