Definately not, he played a majority of AFL games when on South's list and gradually got worse after he moved, he got so bad he got dropped from the AFL list all together and since has gone on to play Division 5 Amatuer football.
If that's not the opposite of forwards I don't know what is!

Nah you are right he has gone backwards majorly. Although Roo didn't change sanfl clubs he has gone backwards at about the same rate as Perrie as he is now playing div 4 amateurs.

Nah, you're completely wrong yet again, Roo won an Adelaide Best And Fairest for Adelaide and was Brownlow runner up at the same age Perrie started playing Div 5. (not to mention winning a Brownlow at the same age Perrie was when he was no longer even on an AFL list)
So in summary if a player stays with his original club he wins a Brownlow or two, if he doesn't he plays Div 5 at the equivelent age.
A slight difference and you've proved my point beautifully, thank you! :D

Back on target please folks, Port by 5 for me.

Hmm Mr Lobbe not good odds for your career development methinks

Matthew Smith moved from Port to Sturt. Paxman from Centrals to North. Peel from North to WWT.

I think Lockwood cant really apply as his body was screwed by then and he retired halfway through the year he moved.

Its a fair call about the other players...but I think it comes with the territory...if youre good youll be playing in the AFL anyway so no need to move. Im 50/50. I originally thought it was a good move, now im unsure. The positives is he will definitely get league games and it may fast track his development a bit more. He had a pretty big pre season, put on 10 kilos in the off season and a fair bit of muscle coming from a minimal base. Essentially I would have liked it if he could have worked his way into the side, but in reality, hes not gonna knock out Meiklejohn, Batson is bigger and better (at the moment) and with Maric still hanging around, theres not a lot of chances there for him to play regular league footy week in week out.

He was always a long term 3-4 year prospect so I guess we'll see what happens in a couple of years if it was worth it or not.

Completely wrong about Perrie's afl career died cos he transferred to North. Sure his afl career dying had nothing do with the sanfl club he played for. Just another theory.

THere has been some interesting theories tonight, hopefully they prove more correct than the once North get rid of Andrew Jarman everything will be fine with the NAFC theory.

Not saying it killed his career, just dispelling the notion that it helped it.

well if ya read the f----ing post, bloods said it didn make his afl career go backwards.

there are so many players that go to amateur clubs after an afl career or sanfl career to have fun or play for the $$$. Perrie could clearly be playing league football at present for sturt if he wanted to. him playing amateur football has nothing to do with the debate about lobbe. give up wedgie

Perhaps you should read the posts and give up cover, I was merely responding to his point that Perrie's career hadn't gone backwards since he changed clubs when it clearly it has. But if you think Div 5 or SANFL is a higher level than the AFL then so be it.
And watch that language, we discourage that here. Don't post so angry my friend, this forum is all about discussion and different opinions! ;)

You're right, it has nothing to do with Lobbe hence why I wasn't the one who brought his name into the discussion and asked the discussion to get back to the Port v West game like I will again now please.
Should be a ripsnorter of a game, hopefully a big crowd will be in attendance, good luck to the Bloods!

I think Port by 30-40 points.

Port in better form should win but I wouldn't be surprised at all if West got up. Being at Alberton though will see Port take the 2 pts. Port by 29 pts
