Agreed, Williams was ordinary, there should have been none. ;)

Credit to WA - struggled to win the ball out of the centre in the first three quarters but won the centre breaks (5-3) in the last quarter. SA's only OOF was that pivotal one at the end when a score would have grabbed at least a draw.

Fos Williams medal is won by Sheedy, deserving winner, great captain's effort, led our dominant mid field with 29 possies.

I guess thats what happens when you ignore the 7-0 top of the table side.

Im looking forward to watching the dogs next weekend and there midfielders kicking the ball long and scoring some goals.

Today is further proof that just because you get 30 possesions doesn't mean you have been effective or you have hurt the other side

Thanks for the scores fellas. Very disappointing. Sounds like we were a bit unprofessional in our selections and on the field.
What was the official crowd in the end?
Does any know if the game will be replayed on ABC2 during the week?

Nice point regarding crumbing. How many times did the ball hit the deck in the forward line and was quickly run out by W.A.. If that was at a Centrals match you would of had a queue of Dogs players ready to crumb and goal.

i really would love to know why a 50m penalty was in place when Panozzo had his head ripped off and was pinged for holding the ball

Agree fully mate, they're experts at it (North are crap at it), I wouldn't have changed 1 thing about the midfield today but I would have had a different set up in the forwards and down back.
Admittedly they did select the original squad knowing WA hadn't had any rain for 18 months but as AM alluded to before there was no reason they couldn't have changed their pics this week but I suppose the argument that the others had already trained together was there.
To lose by 1 point away from home in those conditions, with that umpiring and being 2 down on the bench for most of the game (especially with someone as important as our best ruckman) and it really wasn't a bad effort.
The midfield was nothing short of sensational, Sheedy, Allen, Backwell, etc were awesome.
If it wasn't for our midfield today we would have lost that game by close to 15 goals.

Anyway, Im signing out, thanks for those that joined me online today, time for some World of Warcraft action, I'll pretend the Horde is WA. ;)

My point is if we had better forward 50 pressure we would have a) put greater pressure on them coming out and caused turnovers and b) we would've scored more therefore making those decisions immaterial.

<edit> and as I alluded to on p1 of this thread there is a strong case to answer that we actually lost this game last Sunday when the team was announced.

While i do disagree about his comments towards Alleway (Alleway=best CHF in comp)

I'll take our 7-0 start to the year, while the state loses with their stars from all the other clubs.

We probably could've used the Gowans boys, shocking result.

Thats fine if you don't like midfielders like O'Hara and O'Sullivan who have starred in a Grand Final, kick the ball long regualry and kick goals every week. In O'Sullivan's case he is in the top 6-7 goalkickers this season.

Oh wait a sec they don't pick up 35 useless possesions every week, not good enough to be in that midfield ha ha ha.

While they were disappointed to miss out, the rest will do them the world of good this week.
