Half Time

WA 7.4 46
SA 5.4 34

I think we're in real trouble here, except for the ability to White up forward (why would you do it into the breeze??) we don't have a lot of flexibility and if Parry is gone Dabrowski will have a lot of work to do.

Damon is usually used down the end the breeze is blowing not the opposite end.

Is it my imagination, or has this game been shabbily umpired? Some of the free kicks paid have been total BS!

Good 2nd quarter from WA, they have a fleet of talented midfielders with pace, and that is the difference. We're only 2 goals down, so it's not all bad news.

We need a lift across centre and half forward.

We got rid of him mate! We'd be the last to tell you.
Mind you his state record is probably only 2nd to Mick Nunan's in the last few decades.

What rubbish, it's all good a well to have a whole heap of midfielders who win plenty of ball BUT could we have
1/ A midfielder that can playing attacking football and put scoreboard pressure on OR
2/ A midfielder that will, can or wants to kick the football over 20 meters.

Between Allan, Allen, Backwell, Clayton and Sheedy they have had plenty of the ball but have had no influence and zilch attacking ability, they would be lucky to have kicked the ball over 100 meters in total between all of them.

No surprise that the team that is underfeated 7-0 has players in their midfield such as O'Sullivan, O'Hara, C.Gowans, J.Gowans who kick as long as they can at every oppurtunity, plus they get on the scoresheet.

The midfielders the SA team has are great ball winners but have little to no effect on games. (Clayton is normally better and Sheedy at his best a couple of years ago was brilliant)

Disagree with you there WHUFC, the clearances is the one place we're winning.
There's some terrible players out there today who I'd be replacing before we replace the good ones!
scott's stats tell pretty well much the story.
If it wasn't for our midfielders who are playing well we'd be 10 goals down!

your backing my argument up. If we are winning all the clearances our midfielders should be kicking long yet we have had 8 less inside fifties. Our midfielders have had the bulk of possesion as you would expect and we have had 51 short kicks compared to 17 long kicks.

We have had 3 more center clearances yet 8 less inside 50's i think that says alot about what the midfielders are doing with the ball.

Not sure how Im backing your argument up by preferring to be 12 points down instead of 10 goals down but I'd say the short kicks would have more to do with the conditions mate. The fact is out of the 3 parts of the field the one we're winning (besides Chambers in the first quarter) is the midfield.
Let's be logical and talk about replacing the poorer players who are losing their position first.
The midfielders were kicking long when required in the first quarter to Chambo.
The tactics of the game don't allow for a lot of long kicking at the moment otherwise you'd just be turning it straight over which would be dumb.
