We should win, and win comfortably, however we've lost ones we should win so far. Hopefully we get over the line! Very happy if Shirley doesn't play this week cos that will mean Judd has free reign again.

However, Adelaide normally play well for big games, and no bigger game than the record for games played by a crow. Also, they're due at home too, so I'm undecided on who to pick in footy tips right at the moment.
I'd be interested to see van Berlo get the tagging role on Judd.

I'd take that matchup in a heartbeat. Judd's too strong for VB.

Reilly hasn't produced much down back and I reckon he's out of place there -should be on a wing IMO.

Douglas has been dead set ordinary in the last few weeks -he could be the next one on the chopping block.

Definitely don't want to see a repeat of last week's Jekyll & Hyde effort.
We're a reasonable chance if the players' commitment is there for 4 qtrs.

The trouble is we've got a lot of players best suited to the wings...

It's excellent to finally see us go with the three big man setup. Tippett named as starting ruck is a smokescreen imo, he will go forward for most of the game, releasing the sherriff in Walker, and Maric/Moran will share the ruck duties. McKernan will enter the equation towards the end of the season you'd think, pressuring Moran. There's also the matter of Bocky.

As always with the AFC's youngster management system, Petrenko has had a string of AFL games and will now spend a bit of time back in the SANFL a la Mackay last season (he might have the week off even, I haven't checked the SANFL fixture for this weekend). He's a quality talent and will be back sooner rather than later. Not real pleased about Shirley coming back in but right at the minute we haven't got a plethora of options. Cooky will get another string of games, form permitting, later in the year I think but right now with how rough around the edges he is they'd be content to keep getting SANFL footy into him. Sloane isn't ready just yet while Jazza Jacky will surely come into consideration soon but by all accounts was quiet last week for WWT.

I'm not a conspiracy theorist, but is there a conflict of interest in letting Shirley off at the tribunal? The SANFL own the Crows, and the Crows face an important game this week. Hopefully for Fisher and Westies, I hope not. The result of the appeal affects Carlton directly however it has more impact on Fisher and Westies I would've thought.

My money obviously is on him getting off*

No SANFL footy this weekend mate. State game vs WA.

Adelaide are obviously assuming that our weakness is our backline which I thought would be the case at the start of the year also.
However, statistically we have the third best defence in the league (and the third best offence) and considering the lack of scoring ability of the Crows it could very well be where the game is won and lost.
The thing I worry about more than anything at the moment is that we still have the tendancy to go to sleep in patches of games. I've seen many a time where the Crows have scored quickly against us in a ten minute period and then grind the game out with that lead.
Should be an interesting contest and get ready for a large Carlton presence as the reserved areas for Carlton members were extended during the week due to demand, and sadly for Crows supporters, also due to availability

Completely agree.

Glad the decision was upheld.. questions would have been asked had he been let off...

Anyway Judd would smash him if they did face up, he is over his injury woes and Shirley is not up to AFL standard anymore.

Agree Shirley can't cut it against a fit Judd. Was actually wondering this morning whether the Crows also used the 'naming Shirley' ploy to send a rocket to Reilly who they knew would probably play anyway? When Radar has been discussed as trade bait in last couple of years I've been horrified but he's played 100 games and it's time he takes him game to another level with the ability he has.

Reckon you're onto something there Zorro. Even if it wasn't deliberate, hopefully it gives Reilly a wake up call. He's at the stage of his career where it's make or break now, if he doesn't fire up soon he'll end up on the scrap heap unfortunately.

Good move playing Maric, allows moran and tippett to play up forward and stretch carltons backline. Will most likey force Waite to play in the backlines which is a win for the crows.

Can see Setanta coming in for back up. Would be surprised if Waite started down back considering the Crows have no Bock. Can't see the Crows being able to contain Waitey no matter where he plays. Burton was always a headache for the Blues but he ain't playing, so that's a plus....

Hope to see Fev fire up and kick another bag. He's brilliant to watch live when he's on song, and kicking them from 50+ out.

I hope he seals the match with one from the pocket 50 out like he did a few years ago now....

Apologies for getting off track ... I really can't pick this match with any certainty, but lean toward Carlton.

Like Collingwood and Essendon they always have good support interstate, and they came home like the proverbial shower of you know what last season, so I think they'll get the job done.
