That's a huge win in this weather. Well done Bays.
Where to for the 'Legs ?? A lot was expected of them this season, but it is going pear shaped for them.

It is funny i was talking to Mick Godden today and he was saying how poor Grima had been thus far in 09. He said that after the tribunal result this week went his way he noticed a very different Todd Grima and had said he wouldn't be surprised to see him have night out tonight even with the wet weather. Looks like he was right and the rest of his team mates look as though they followed. A good win to the bays but where does it leave the redlegs?

Just got home. Mrs Pseudo is snoring in bed. I don't fancy my chances there; I might as well share my thoughts while they are fresh in the mind.

Bays: Best performance of the year. Sans doute. Grima superb; haven't seen him hold so many marks in such a definitive fashion all year. Fisher a magician; all over the ground, in everything. The handball game worked. Accuracy in front of goals: More G than B for the first time this season, I think. EXCELLENT return given the conditions.

Legs: I haven't seen much of them this year, but jeez, they were woeful. Little pressure applied on the Bays players. What pressure there was, was clumsy and resulted in frees. Poor skills. Succumbed to the most routine pressure from the Bays.

Great night out: beers in Finn MacCool's before the game, catching up with some of the Norwood fans, good natured banter, a good result..... little wonder that we all look forward to the Friday night Parade fixture as one of the highlights on the SANFL calendar.

GOAL KICKERS:

Glenelg: T.Grima 5.1, R.Kirkby 2.5, B.Murphy 2.1, C.Kane, A.Fisher 2.0, J.Sellar 1.2, M.Ruwoldt 1.1, T.Allen, R.O'Grady 1.0, J.Hinge 0.1, Rushed 0.4

Norwood: P.Puoplo 1.3, B.Zorzi 1.2, J.Vlatko, J.Gallagher, T.Weatherald, S.Phillips, S.Rowe, L.Jericho 1.0, D.Terlich 0.1, Rushed 0.2

BETTER PLAYERS:

Glenelg: A.Fisher, T.Allen, T.Grima, T.Holmes, R.Kirkby, B.Backwell, L.Panozzo, T.Cranston, C.Kane, B.Kane

Norwood: P.Puoplo, B.Zorzi, D.Trotter, N.Duigan

Was very impressed with the Bays tonight, conversly Norwood were extremely dissapointing...

The Legs looked like a totally different side tonight to the one we saw against Centrals a fortnight ago...

Same with the Bays, they were the total opposite side from when I last saw them on ANZAC Day against the Dogs also...

Grima was sensational up forward but so was the supply with the Bays midfield totally dominating. I saw the stats at half time and Fisher had something like 23 touches so I'm sure he finished up with over 40 for the night.

Roury Kirkby found some form tonight also which is good timing being added to the State squad but needs to work on his goal kicking as he finished the night with 2 goals 5 from 8 shots on goal.

Paul Puopolo and Brett Zorzi can hold their heads high for the home side trying hard all night but Trevor Hill's side had a lot of passengers this evening and with a few off field rumblings during the week at the Parade, I'm sure there will be more asking for action from the club.

Interesting stat that the Legs had 8 individual players post their score with not 1 multiple goal kicker. Kieran McGuiness played probably his worst game for the club tonight including giving a silly free kick away for time wasting after a Bay goal that saw Grima awarded a free kick at the top of the square for 2 six pointers to the visitors in 30 seconds.

The Bays will be pretty happy with their performance tonight ahead of 2 weeks of no footy with the State game bye and the scheduled bye the week after. Norwood, on the other hand, clearly have to make some changes, player wise and game plan ahead of their State game week off before facing Sturt under lights in a fortnight from tonight.

Didn't see any major injuries to worry about for either side although Chris Hall came off hobbling late in the 3rd term and wasn't seen in the last term, coming out onto the ground after the match in tracksuit pants and jacket.

Interesting to note the reserves had a draw in a very scrappy, low scoring affair. Both sides had their opportunities to win it but the end result was the same as that at 3/4 time, with both sides only kicking 3 points a piece in the final term for a final score of 5.11 = 41 eaach.

as did I. $2.05 dividend was enough to swing me. :( Tonight Glenelg performed above expectation - and Norwood below.

Hmm... Bad luck Spelly... From what I've seen of them they'll be very lucky to make the five...

As Pseudo has said, the best performance all year after spluttering for 7 rounds. Plenty of run and for the first time this year looked dangerous up forward.

And likewise a quiet night tonight also ... the missus follows the legs.

Got there at half time of the ressies and thought we'd be lucky to get 1000, but it felt like another 2500 came in just before the game, so a good crowd in the end.

The legs were pretty ordinary and on that form will struggle to worry the top 5 ... which is puzzling because they were very good against the dogs.

Good way to go into a 3 week break.

As has been mentioned, Bays' best performance of the season by a street .. must have been fond memories from last year.
Disappointingly though, Norwood had last year's score covered in just 24 minutes.
Still think Grima's got a way to go before he hits top gear.. still dropped a fair few marks he should have taken tonight.
But he is warming up after a late start to the pre-season and starting to look dangerous ... five goals speaks for itself.
The tackling pressure the boys put on tonight was awesome creating numerous turnovers. Norwood though were responsible for many themselves. They were awful and now face a big struggle to make the finals. Thought the crowd was a bit disappointing despite the rain ... plenty of room in the grandstand.
Very nice way to go into a fortnight off. We haven't been that good so far this season so to be 6-2 is very satisfying despite the Anzac Day disaster.
