For those interested, Thomas Dunne WILL play league tomorrow for the Dogs after not playing in the reserves game tonight. From the extended bench for the league side, Leigh Westhoff and Adam Switala played in the 2's and drop out while I could only spot Lachy McGregor tonight for the Bays, dropping out of their squad. This may mean that both Todd Grima and state player Brett Backwell didn't come up from their fitness test.

RESERVES FINAL SCORES:

Centrals: 5.1 5.5 7.9 8.13 = 61
Glenelg: 1.4 1.9 4.10 5.13 = 43

RESULT: Centrals by 18 points

GOAL KICKERS:

Centrals: D.Allocca 2.1, A.Duncan 2.0, L.Habel, R.Henderson 1.2, L.Westhoff 1.1, S.Brading, D.Hynes, B.Nason 0.1, Rushed 0.4

Glenelg: B.Donnelly 2.1, D.Kirk 1.1, L.McGregor, D.Clayfield 1.0, A.Grima 0.5, C.Hall, N.Cane, S.Snook, D.Hill, S.Sverdloff 0.1, Rushed 0.2

BETTER PLAYERS:
Centrals: L.Westhoff, McShane, L.Habel, N.White, A.Switala, L.Barmby, A.Duncan, D.Allocca
Glenelg: D.Kirk, M.Liebelt, B.Donnelly, C.Hall, P.Adlington, L.McGregor, A.Grima

The Dogs got off to a good start in the opening term kicking 5 goals to 1 in slippery conditions. Glenelg certainly had their opportunities in front of goal in the opening half but were too innaccurate which cost them in the end. Brett Kirk, playing at CHF for the Bays, probably had the better of Heath Lawry in a good contest while Leigh Westhoff was very good on his wing for the winners.

Crows Irish recruit Brian Donnelly was a strong target for the visitors playing deep in attack while Chris Hall won plenty of the ball for his new club. Ash Duncan had a purple patch in the second term for the Dogs kicking a couple of goals and setting up another in a 5 minute spell while NSW recruit luke Habel continued his good form in the red, white and blue.

Michael Godden's players got back in the contest throughout the 3rd term outscoring their opponents and got within 2 goals in the early stages of the final term beofre Allocca kicked a major from the goal square to seal the win before the Dogs played keepings off for the last few minutes. The rain set in for 5 or 10 minutes half way through the last term and probably help the Dogs hold on to their slender lead as the skills were effected by the slippery conditions.

Apparently on the way to watch the reserves play at Elizabeth last night, 3 or 4 Doggies players were unfortunately involved in a car accident.

From what I heard they were T-Boned in Salisbury and the car, supposedly belonging to Brayden O'Hara was not in a good shape but the players aren't seriously injured. Brayden O'Hara, Lee Spurr, Justin Hardy and Ryan Williams were in the vehicle and Hardy was the only one that was a little sore from it.

I think they are all clear to play today against the Bays but if there is any late withdrawals, you would understand why. Thye may come up a tad sorer today.

''unfortunately i think centrals should win fairly comfortably''
''Centrals by Plenty though''
''i fear we'll be smashed this week''
''On a fine day I reckon the margin would be 60-80 points. Wet weather might be the only thing which saves the Bays from embarrassment.''

What's wrong with you Glenelg ladies, bit of a contest & you throw your bacarrdi cruisers in the air & go running to the arms of another man. (kudos to Punk for the 2nd bit)
Hey soccer you owe us 45million.

Just taking the lead from Drebin in the North v centrals thread from 3 weeks ago:

I just expect to see a very competitive effort from North and not get badly beaten

;)
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!
