Doubt it, as Members have nowhere else to go it would be packed...plus it would be nice if they looked after the people that put $$$ into the oval

Been to an ANZAC day game recently? Bradman stand usually has more people in it than the members area.

And is it that bad sitting with the riff-raff? I'd rather not sit in a members reserve at AO, the only thing it had over the general area was the bars. And you can wear a shirt without a collar as well!

dutchy it has to be for the public because this is where mal & i sit ;)
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway

I reckon this game will be closer than some people are expecting. The smart money is still on centrals but I will not be surprised if we actually put in a better effort this game in terms of work rate and adherance to the coaches game plan that what we have in our previous four.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

I've been getting that feeling too AB .. Not sure why, because I haven't seen either side live yet, just going by results and accounts thus far.

Here is the Doggies League Squad for this week's game, starting at 3:00pm:

Full Forward: Ian Callinan Daniel Schell Daniel Havelberg
Half Forward: Chad O'Sullivan Matthew Westhoff Chris Gowans
Centre Line: Lee Spurr James Gowans Kyle Jenner
Half Back: Eddie Sansbury Justin Hardy Ryan Williams
Full Back: Brad Symes Yves Sibenaler Brayden O'Hara

Ruck: Jonathon Giles Paul Thomas Matthew Slade

Interchange: Thomas Dunne, Scott Dutschke, Jason Mackenzie, Adam Switala & Leigh Westhoff

Into 23: Brad Symes (Crows), Daniel Schell, Thomas Dunne, Adam Switala, Leigh Westhoff

Out: Jonathon Griffin (Crows) Luke Barmby, Heath Lawry (ommitted) + 2 more from bench

While it would be good for a youngster to make his debut in Dunne, I think either Switala or Leigh Westhoff will make the final interchange spot. Heath Lawry and Luke Barmby drop out of the side while I'm a bit suprised Ash Duncan wasn't named in the extended squad. Here are the reserves:

Reserves Squad:
Hadden, Lawry, McShane, Frail, R. Henderson, Habel, Allocca, Brading, White, Woodards, Hynes, Nason, Reichert, Kelly, Porter, Barmby, Economou, Duncan, Matson, Foldesdy.

He is on the extended interchange bench but I think he may just miss out on a spot in the final 21...

Had a great game last weekend in the reserves and played some good football in the 2's side late last year...

Came in as a forward and had a couple of games where he finished with bags of 5 or 6 but has been playing as a running defender this season under Dogs reserves coach Jeff Brown.

Good luck to Dunny if he gets an opportunity but I think the final spot on the bench will either go to Adam Switala or Leigh Westhoff.

So there must still be some doubt on oneof Callinan or Jenner after suffering slight injuries last week against the Panthers. I'll be heading along to the reserves game tonight at Elizabeth so we see whether he is playing tonight to confirm his selectoin tomorrow or not.

So yesterday a reserves player said he would "definately play tomorrow" - so tomorrow yesterday, is today so does that mean he is defiantely playing tonight at Elizabeth Oval. OR was whufc putting the reserves players statement in the context of posting today so today's tomorrow is tomorrow so Dunne is playing tomorrow....

For those that are interested to know a bit about this week's possible debutant for the Dogs...

Thomas Dunne is another local product at the club from Centrals Barossa Valley rectruiting zone. He hails from the Gawler Central Tigers and managed to play 8 reserves games last year, mainly as a 2nd string tall forward. He was actually invited to do a pre season with Port Power this summer but was not recruited into the AFL obviously.

In the 8 reserves games played in 2008, Thomas kicked 15 goals including a couple of bags of 5 or 6 from memory. He started the year in the Under 19's after a full season in that side in '07 and from 12 x U/19's game last year, managed to kick 28 goals to be the leading goalkicker and finished equal 5th in the Best & Fairest for that grade.

Thomas has played in the backlines throughout the reserves season so far this season, mainly as a running half back as he has a very long, accurate and penetrating left foot kick, much like Brent Guerra and Stuart Dew. I hope he goes well if he makes the cut and I guess time will tell tomorrow afternoon or tonight.

Was in town earlier otday for lunch and had a look at what was happening in the mall the SANFL promotion...

Ben Kane, John Hinge and certain State player Brett Backwell (for you Dutchy ;) ) were there for the Bays and for the Dogs was Brayden O'Hara, Lee Spurr and Chad O'Sullivan. There was some 2 up being played and plenty of activities for the kids.

Dropped in to a newsagent and grabbed a Budget early. Those curious as to whether Tomas Dunne make his league debut for the Dogs will be in interested to know he he listed in the league side only (and not the reserves as well) so it looks promising for the lad.

Although, we do know that we don't take player lisitings in the Budget as gospel, there have been many a change in the past that hasn't been printed. Will post whether he plays reserves tonight when I am out at Elizabeth later tonight.

I see that Backwell has been named on the field and Grima on the bench.

This is a good idea as it avoids the possibility of another nasty collision.
