Eagles fans get a free kick.

You can bring up either 1953, 1986 or 1988.

Just one...

No big deal with the Eagles winning at Alberton...we only beat the bottom team.

i went and had a look at this game, and j clayton really impressed me. about the only port player who did. port are very undisciplined . lack run and very indecisive when they got the ball. perkins got a real bath today and the eagles used his wing a lot of the time. if north were the eagles yesterday i wouldnt be too impressed, if they were playing atop 5 side they wouldnt have won. grocke had a chance to kick the eagles clear a few times but he just cant kick goals under pressure, well not yesterday anyway.

brought a steak sanga from the BBQ and the steak was cold, gave that away and got a snag in bread, 3$

Yep totally agree but we were just as bad against Glenelg(who are in the top 5) and won.
Just as bad as against West and we drew
And just as bad as against Centrals and we lost by 9 points .
The difference being we were better after 1/2 time against the dogs than the other games .Except for a 3 or 5 minute patch against west .

IMHO If Waterhouse was still playing Port may well have run over the top.

But IF is a very big word in footy .

END of the day Eagles win and are third on the ladder . ;)
And Port are where they belong .

No blinkin' kidding. Three bucks for a single overcooked snag in a single slice of bread. Would get twice that for the same price at the Bay, and better quality to boot. Seems like the Alberton ground management has gotten used to ripping off the gullible AFL supporters. Little wonder both Port clubs have distinct off-field issues.

Haha yeah that's why both Port clubs have off-field issues... The snags at Alberton are overpriced!! Now I've heard it all...

That was a shocking display by port yesterday last years team would have run over the top of the eagles .Oh thats right no full forwards at alberton since thursdays training no waterhouse no magpies .

My dear cynical friend, are you aware that no AFL games get played at Alberton, this being the case how the f*** does the price of a sausage have anything to do with the AFL supporters?

You amaze me at times, not everyone can draw a long enough bow to bring the AFL into a discussion like you.

You are probably right Micky, I would think Ginever may struggle to see the season out.

I can understand everyone's joy with the 'Pies on the bottom of the ladder, never seen it before in my time. I can only rest assured that we wont spend a decade down there ( or more ) or require the assistance of an equally insipid club to merge with us and get us out of the droppings.

Long season ahead and it is only round 4.

Hey, we might be the best SANFL team to ever be 0-4... ;)

A fair bit of gloating going on here by some hybrid supporters; doesn't make for intelligent reading.

On a more positive note great to hear Broadbent is going so well as the boy can play. Eagles have plenty to offer in 2009, I think Ronnie Fuller is reinventing himself!

Conversely young Booney, you do not amaze me at all. You can be relied upon to take the bait with monotonous regularity. Kind of disappointed that I only had one other bite though.

One of the most ridiculous comments made in forums, " take the bait ", have you noticed that people responding to others comments are the foundation of discussions?

If you wish to discuss issues you may find others responding to them makes it much more interesting, then again you may be happy to just play with yourself... 8)

It was a game that the Eagles had to win if they were to prove they are a top5 contender this year. Realistically Port Adelaide are very ordinary and poorly coached.

It is hard to judge coaching when the cattle just isn't there, but I do feel Tim has had the time to deilver. I dont think he has had the resources though. ( $$$$$ )

I also agree the top 5 will account for Port. Most punters had Port in the bottom 4 and we will fight out 6th spot with West, South and an unlucky North or Eagles outfit.

Centrals, Norwood, Glenelg and Sturt the top 4. So all in all no real surprises that Norwood, North,Glenelg and the Eagles have beaten us. Perhaps Sundays game the only one we 'should' have won.

Very good point, Booney.

I'm surprised at you Pseudo. I always enjoy your offerings, but they are 95% in response to someone else's posts.

Reckon you might be under-estimating North there mate, I was pretty damn impressed with what I saw from them on Friday.

Sounds as though the ill-discipline and hesitancy filtering through the Port camp at present is something most clubs experience when they are in a slump ... Im sure it will only take a win or two to improve that, and they will start making ground, whether they will have left it too late or not by then is the worry for Magpies fans though.
